  1. MyTyres.co.uk. Absolutely. Get the 16" and don't worry too much about the top end tyres. Face it, you're not going to be doing 100mph in the ****ty snow and ice and even the regular budget winter tyres are amazing compared to normal ones. I bought the Nangkan Snow SV-2 just over two years ago and they have been great. £98 each at the time (including steels). Can't go wrong! One word of warning.....if the weather is "nice", ie dry, not pouring with rain / snow / sleet etc, and above the magic 7 deg C on average, the winter tyres really suffer under medium to hard cornering, acceleration and braking....so just keep that in mind when upsetting the local BMW owners! Other than that....have a great time NOT sliding and drifting around in the snow and ice and a very Merry Christmas!
  2. I've been running Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2 for the last year...covered 25k+ and found them to be great in both wet and dry. I'm not the slowest driver in the world and regularly run both M-way and lanes. I'm in the market for a new set....today....but I have to admit....these are bloody good!
  3. Yet another update! After putting a "neutral" feedback on Ebay.....well....they may have offered the difference back, but that's not really the point.... anyway....they have offered to refund me in full if I retract the feedback!? Works for me! SO....here is the question....loads of us have tried different types of LED's....the question is: "Which ones are the best?" Need to consider - cost - brightness - colour - customer service Come on peeps....let's make a decision!
  4. Up date...... "We are very sorry.....we will credit you for the difference (after I asked) and we will advise you when they come in, should be a couple of weeks". Of course, I only really got this after I started talking about the Sale of Goods Act and Misrepresentation. Personally, I think that someone there can't be ars'd to contact the buyer and say "excuse me, but we don't have any 21's, would you like some 18's in stead?" So....IF they call me when there are some more in, I think I might have to have 18's in the reversing lights.
  5. oK...so no one clocked my intentional error??? DRL's..... ...night time photo....? It has been a long day.

  7. As un update....I also bought the 21's from them on ebay...they arrived in short order...brilliant....and I've fitted them...even better....and as soon as I figurte it out, I'll post before and after... however.... guess what has turned up!? Yup..you got it...18's. might be having a word....I believe that this is called misrepresentation and is quite against Trading Standards laws. Still....look better than the originals! EDIT!! Right....here we go... And no error messages....yet! Think I might take a night-time photo...much more interesting!
  8. Looks good, but aren't they just for the Rear side windows and not all of the back of the car? Let us all know how you get on with them. I want to get a set for my Combi before the sun arrives. lol
  9. right then.....as we finally got some snow...I stuck mine on! Good God what a difference! After nearly 1000 miles in the snow and ice around both the South east and midlands, I can't rate snow tyres highly enough! well worth the £400 for the set of rims and tyres from MyTyres! Maybe next year, I'll spray them up silver as well!
  10. So? Got me tyres......where's the bloody snow!!!
  11. OK...mine arrived early last week from MyTyres....all at the same time! Roll on the snow so I can try them out!! :-)
  12. No doubt about it....but when it's a company car and having the "premium" tyres would have cost 2-3 times the amount and they didn't want me to spend out on tyres in the first place...I reckoned that these were a good compromise! I do tend to get through a lot of tyres...averaging 30-40k per year, so I figured that for the slight difference in performance, saving over £400 was worth it. Hope I made the right choice!! :S
  13. After checking about and reading a few reviews, I've ordered some Nankang SV-2 from Mytyres last week....WITH steel rims for my Superb. At £99 each, I'm not complaining but we will see what happens when / IF they turn up! I'll keep you informed.
  14. OK....I have an HTC Desire HD....didn't work with the original BT kit (NO 035 730 C), so after reading the forum...bought a (D) version from ebay for £110 and it now works on HFP perfectly. In fact, the BT media streaming also works! Which is bonus. So....no firmware updates, no messing about with the columbus system, just plug and play. Sweet! :-)
