How to remove the dial surround
ab vrs replied to Whitelighter's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I fixed it the same way with just a piece of black card. However, sure I remember a thread a while back that there is a proper fix available from the dealer -
I was told that 10k is a max, and the car knows best thus giving you a countdown. Had mine serviced as instructed by the computer at 9,000. Seems a very short interval especially as I'd put 5 litres of oil in it up to that point. Now replaced it with a 3l BMW, with 23k between services and not used a drop of oil

Whatever product used, the key is the preparation. Doesn't matter if superguard, autogylm or other sealent/wax, poor prep will result in poor finish and longevity.

My 125i coupe 3years old 40k, just serviced, new brake disc & pads with 2 year BMW warranty, paid less than 15k. That's a pretty good alternative to a vrs in my book.

Had my vrs 9 months, despite enjoying it getting concerned on oil usage issues affecting future values etc. Changed it for a mint 3 year old 125i coupe. It's brilliant, by far the best car ever owned. The 3 liter engine sounds brilliant and the build quality is superb.

The unit does have dab+, unfortunately the UK is behind the times and uses the old dab not the + so can't get it in the UK.

My vrs has done it since I drove it out the showroom. Rather than back to dealer to take it apart and probably not fix it but create more rattles, I fixed it myself. Either side of the trip button, between the clear plastic and the black frame, wedge in a piece of black card folded over a couple of times. Fixed it straight away and can't notice it. Hope that helps.

vRS oil warning light 10 weeks after service
ab vrs replied to blair77's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Had my 10k service about 1200 miles ago, checked they'd correct level in, currently has used about 300 ml of oil. This is similar usage to what I had in first 10k -
can u fit a this in a fabia estate
ab vrs replied to fabia55's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I only just fitted my 160 l tank and cabinet in my Volvo v70, tank was ok, it was the base that only just fitted, it was already built, so think you might struggle in the fabia -
My Fabia vrs has only ever ran on vpower so can't really compare, however, I've mainly used vpower petrol or diesel in my previous cars and always noticed a significant improvement in performance. Most noticeably was my Pug 206 gti180, with vpower in it drove like a different car. For the sake of a couple of quid extra on a tank, for me I can't understand why you wouldn't use it.

I'd have thought easy to spray, only concern would be the heat under the bonnet, would the paint peel under intense heat?

Come off. Can't say I noticed a problem before but now seems quieter and more stable at speed. Not sure if this placebo or not but has Definately improved the car. On a different note £10 for a candy white touch up pen!? Felt robbed on that one!

Had it fixed today, spoke to mechanic, was the first one they've replaced on a vrs. Said the entire top seal had

Stupid question, but does this in anyway improve performance or is it purely a noise thing? Cheers
