  1. Hello all. Im having issues with my vRS, I have no power in 1st gear at all and all my other gears are flat until 2000-2500rpm. Ive looked around the forum and I've seen many different issues this could be but because I've got 3 different codes i don't know which way to go about it. All fault codes are saying short with power. Whilst driving i now and again get the coil light flashing and going into limp mode so by turning the car off and back on again it clears the fault. Last night driving to somerset in the heavy rain my car went into limp mode about 10 times in the space of 5-10 mile. My car no longer has an undertray on it due to someone doing work on my car and throwing it into a skip!! A friend who works in VW has said to me that he thinks it could be the wiring loom going to the MAP sensor as this runs across the front of the gear box and over time they do rub through and it can be a common problem. Due to the fact my car was taking a lot of water underneath and i was getting the coil light more than normal does it seem more likely that it is the wiring loom/map sensor taking in water? Also, i have noticed my car has developed some sort of blow now, sounds like gasket. Im assuming any sort of leak exhaust side wouldn't have any effect on the car? Thanks in advance for any help.
  2. Hi all, I took my Octavia vrs off the road a year ago when I got my RS3 but now due to having it as a weekend car I’m now back on the Octavia. My blowers aren’t working in any positions, even the green light bar doesn’t work but if I press the windscreen button it starts blowing. I’ve seen posts about the resister etc but wouldn’t that stop the fan completely? Could anyone shed some light please? thanks

  4. Hello all.. Not long replaced the 12v as it was a bit grubby inside. My son decided it would be a good idea to put a 1p coin in there yesterday. I've got it out this morning but the socket is not working. I've checked the 15amp fuse in the fuse box and it's fine. Is the socket itself knackered?

  6. Hello all, my car for a good while now runs lumpy for a few seconds after cold start. You have to hold it at around 1000 rpm until it settles down. I have noticed blue smoke as well sometimes. Does this sound like it could be a glow plug issue? Thanks
  7. All sorted now. Just stripped wires and put a connector in. Working fine now
  8. Hello all, my reverse lights and sensors havnt been working so got myself a switch from euro car parts yesterday. Just took it all apart to find 1 of the wires has snapped. Am I best just stripping the wire back and putting a connector in? Also, the switch euro gave me has a spade connection on where as the one on my car already has a plug socket. Does the plug socket pull off or is it the wrong one. Cheers
  9. Right not actually managed to check wires yet but now found out my reverse lights are not working either if my display is not showing. It's gone worse than before and hardly ever works now.
  10. That is how it normally was but mine now seems to be workin from the clutch being pressed and depressed.
  11. My display works with clutch fully out but if I dip clutch back in it goes off even though it's still in reverse I have to dip the clutch again for it to bleep and show display
  12. Hello all I now have problem when reversing. When I select reverse I get the bleep and display comes up but as soon as i dip the clutch the display goes off until I release the clutch it bleeps again snd shows the display.. Anybody know the problem?
