  2. thanks nud748, must admit its (caravans) all new to me as i haven't a clue about weights etc.. as i originally was looking at motorhomes but they are so expensive and i was pleasantly surprised at the looks/interiors of the latest caravans... all i can find regarding the weight of a particular burstner belcanto is "mass in running order" of 1320kg, anyone care to enlighten me? cheers mick.
  3. @ marcus, do you know/think a petrol octavia vrs (mark 2) would be any use for towing or does it have to be diesel?... was at the show in birmingham on tuesday last (flew over from dublin for the day for the princely sum of €52 return for two:)) and saw a lovely burstner belcanto which i fancied cheers mick.

  6. thats no bother at all colm,as you say it saved me a lot of messing about, i just hacksawed the excess piece out and sanded down, its now in the shed with its second topcoat on drying, saved a lot of time and hopefully it'll be a staight fit. i even had time to adjust the rear lamp(s) cluster down to close the gap you helpfully pointed out , definitefully a lot better- might post a pic. ps, those red arrows look cool however you did them
  7. i'm guessing it was eddie rockets on the corner? which is more expensive than the usual fastfood joints but kinda worth it as the servings are much bigger/tastier :munch:
  8. look whose talking! you'd better be quick before its too late:D
  9. hi from laytown:wavey: ps gaff, how could you hurt a little puddy cat like this
  10. i've recently sold this car (have the new one though:D ), but to answer your questions, the car was on standard rs suspension and never had any rubbing problems even when i bought the rs6 alloys and had the four originals in the boot, i've since sold these wheels(rs6) to a guy with a standard octavia tdi and he's little or no rubbing issues. the tyres are 235/35/19 which are a pretty standard fit to an 8x19" rim and are about the widest you can go. when i was buying the rs6's i was torn between 18" which gives a better ride or the 19" which looks great, dont ride so well. given the choice again i'd go for 18" as its the best compromise between looks and performance, hope this helps
  11. thanks liam - can see it now, looks like great crack bernard: thumbup:
