  1. Are people saying that all conventional Roomster lights (conventional as opposed to projector lights) can be switched?Interesting: my garage are normally pretty good on these things, and they rang Skoda HQ and were told that it couldn't be done! Having driven in France quite a lot in the rhd Skoda I am sticking with rhd, thank you. As far as I can recall, every French road accident I've seen has involved an lhd car fetching up in the ditch on the right hand side! I'm a patient overtaker and can bide my time, but those pesky ditches are there wherever you go!
  2. I've turned up this interesting thread, but my problem is the opposite one, of trying to make myself properly legal on French roads! My garage has looked at my Roomster headlights and says there is nothing to alter the beams, so presumably my car is too new? Would older Roomster headlights fit the newer model if I could find some? (Flat beams are apparently OK for the French Controle Technique Fitting new headlights in France seems an expensive prospect (or can they be done DiY?). It's not really the cost I resent, so much as the fact that the French dealership we went to with another problem was very slow to do the job!
  3. Thank you, Etos, that's exactly what I'm after. But how do you go about actually getting hold of one please?
  4. We are moving to France in the autumn: please can anyone explain how to get a European Certificate of Conformity for a Roomster so that we can register it there?
  5. Thank you, both. All sorts of interesting information here, isn't there? I've learned quite a lot already!
  6. Hi, I suspect that like many newcomers I am after specific info, but here is a bit about me. I'm a Vicar in Cornwall for another 7 weeks, then being pensioned off on health grounds and retiring to my home in France in time for the cider harvest! (The house came withits own orchard...) The C of E is slashing its pension scheme, so I got in on the last day. I aim to do what my father did with the Civil Service Pension Scheme: he worked for them 15 years, then drew a pension for 49 years! My Roomster tows a mighty trailer, which has been a great combination for moving my garden to France. It has been a dream of a car, except for when the gearbox fell to pieces (thankfully under warranty!) at night on a busy French dual carriageway! Skoda UK were great sorting it out. Skoda in France were not: I won't be more specific, 'coz Vicars aren't supposed to know words like I'd need to use..... So that's me - hi!
