To be honest I to would of chosen 17s, but at the time you could only have 18s on elegance. I believe this has now changed and they will let you have 17s. Can I even fit 16s to elegance? Didn't think I could!

Hi guys, Have had my superb elegance for about 10 months now and covered about 60k. After the winter we had with pot holes the 18s have taken a bit of a battering. Due to this i've been using cheap tyres for a bit but have finally got fed up with the amount of road noise from these, so i'm going back to a high quality tyre and getting them re furbed.. But before I do this, i've considered switching to the se 17s for better ride, less road noise and cost of tyre. What do people think? Good move or bad move?

What you taking shark_90? Gonna be in new superb and my mate was gonna be in his vrsII. Only trouble is, i think he sold that today. Trying to find a fl vrs 170cr in red with dsg and everything else in less than 2 weeks! Don't fancy his chances!

Which kit car are you building?

As title says! Off to le mans in a few weeks for the 4th time, anyone else going? In the past I've been in my caterham academy car or raw striker kit car. But we are going for a little comfort and taking my taxi this year, a superb 2 170cr . Will be going newhaven - dieppe. Now just gotta get the stickers on the taxi . Can't wait

Don't let them tell you it does, from memory it's pin 19 on the back of the dash cluster but may need to check that. There's nothing there at present, it just needs i wire in that terminal. My sister lives in brighton so will have to tell her to keep an eye out for best taxi in town . She did did get in a brand new superb a while ago, driver was telling her how he'd just had the door smashed in by kids with a catapult!

Yeah, mostly motorways, hereford to heathrow etc, hence the 42k already! Have been having a bit of a look at what i can get a deal on (other halfs dad has a tyre company ). Anyone got any opinions on avons or falkens? Just a couple that are on special at the moment.

I have a 6 month old superb elegance for my taxi in hereford. Also had the old shape superb before which was a 130bhp with a remap by oscarli. My old shape did 240k before I changed the clutch and even then I only did it cos it was having a cambelt and thought better safe than sorry. It didn't need a flywheel either, I'd had this since it had 9k on it so I know it hadn't had one before. My current car has now done 42k and I love it. I'm sure you won't regret it. Did you have any trouble fitting meter? Everywhere here tells you it will need a canbus box and charges accoringly! It doesn't, just a bit of a con going on or lack of knowledge I think.

Have done 40k since getting my 2.0cr elegance. Car is a taxi so tyre wear is quite important. Sadly the continentals only lasted 14k althouth i did like them for grip and noise. Since then I've put some budgets on which in fairness have lasted well, but are very noisey which drives me crazy! What are others using, surely there must be a compromise between wear and noise! I know some of this is down to low profile tyres on 18inch rims and have thought about switching to some se 17's but they are silly money. Have also noticed the rears prematurely wearing the inside edge. Anyone else had this? Is there a fix? Many thanks

Only 30k so far but it's only 4 1/2 months old!

Had my elegance about 4 months now, another taxi! 26K for me so far. I've also noticed this of late, only mine is a 2.0cr 170. Still loving the car and get loads of compliments from customers.

Have searched for remote sim access with no luck, so beginning to think it's not gonna work. Unless anyone has anymore ideas!!

Just got myself an HTC Hero, it's great. Only trouble is when I try pairing it to phone prep, it find the the phone but then says it's incompatible! Question is, are there any settings on the handset that will make it work, had read threads about other HTC handsets working. Many thanks.
