  1. I have recently purchased a 1 year old tdi 190 4x4. It had around 6000 miles on the clock and I have added a further 2500. My only gripe is the amount of thuds, some quite load, coming from the rear suspension. It is fine on a smooth dual carriageway but on poorly maintained minor roads which account for much of my journeys it becomes quite an issue. I dial down the settings to "Comfort" every time but it makes no difference. Tyre pressures are correct but the ride sometimes feels very "wooden". Would appreciate any comments. Thanks. John
  2. That's interesting. Various road tests I have read highlight good fuel economy for the 150bhp. The extra 40 bhp arrives with a cost and unlike the 150 is 4 WD which is obviously a factor.
  3. I have exactly the same car as you and I would be over the moon if I could achieve 57mpg. I have only twice had more than 50mpg on motorway runs and my long term average is around 43. Having said that, for a large 4 wheel drive car I didn't think it bad. Personally I have doubts that different tyres will produce significantly better or worse results.
