  1. Hahaha love this! my first car was a 120L that my dad had purchased new after we blew up out Fiat 850 on holiday one year, yes i was the bain of alot of jokes but it didnt bother me, these cars are so fun to drive! especially on a nice twisty road or a gravel road showed more than a few people up toying with them, got myself a octavia 1.8t now and even to this day i run into people who call me the skodaboy all from the days of the 120L, and then when they hear i have an octavia.....they go gee youll never change haha
  2. Ive had spax adjustable shocks on my car for nearly a year now! and i can only give good comments if you want to firm up the dampers for a track day and then back down for road use its so easy! i use mine with vogtland springs and they work well together
  3. theyre nice tidy mods! ill take a picture of mine that i did the night before a track day...marker pen ruler and a stanley knife = big hole that lets the air thru
  4. I just got some H4 Phillips Crystal vision bulbs for my octy 1, they have a blue filter but i must say i havnt noticed any reduced light output, and driving at night is improved as the eyes dont strain as much. I got them from Repco, did cost a wee bit but i also recomend to pay for a good brand bulb and you wont run into any issues
  5. Went out this morning, tried it and still the same so decided to check the other fuses, pulled the central lock fuse out as well as the others to check all where fine, put the cover back on, closed the door and hit lock and the lights flash when it locks! must have just needed a reset. Did a few other bits and bobs this weekend, got my sill kick trims installed and must say i reckon they look great, got my superb light going (after i fiddled and tried to find out what pins 2 and 6 do.... dont put 12v to pin 6 as it blows the little diodes in there and it makes the map lights work a bit funky! so i just unsoldered both diodes and it works as it should!) pin 6 from what i can tell will supply 12v when you have either a map light or the whole unit switched on. Fitted my comfort indicator kit and also shifted my ipod kit from the cubby under the radio to the armrest which was pretty straight foward, on the lh side of the armrest if you pop the side trim off you can see it is designed to allow some wires to get up and into it Now just waiting on the parts to arrive for my rain sensor job, ran the wires needed for this with my wire for the interior lamp, got them all clipped up the the factory harness all the way to the fuse box was happy getting it done like that without much hassle.
  6. Hey Guys Just fitted up my Superb interior lamp today but shorted out the 12v wire to ground while putting it back together somehow! poped the fuse so put a new one in, but now when i lock the car my indicators dont flash but the alarm leds in the door work, and the indicators flash when i unlock the car! any ideas?? they used to flash when i locked and unlocked the car Thanks Fabian
  7. Sunroof version in gray is 3U0947105A2EN, the contacts go into the new plug as they are a different size to the ones in the car already. Im getting used to ETKA now!
  8. Just got myself one of these, P/N's i got are as follows 3B0972706 Plug Housing 9.40+GST 000979131 Contact (2 reqd) 3.96+GST ea 3U09471052EN Superb Interior Lamp in Gray - Non Sunroof model 164.78+GST Im just going to cut my original loom as i wont be changing it back! The prices i got are thru a private importer here in New Zealand, the main dealers wanted more and didnt want to help with a good discount. Not a cheap mod by any means but i drive a few BMW's here at work and the ambiant lighting is great
  9. Ive never had any issues with rain sensors in other cars ive driven, i know you can make the system revert back to standard intermitent wipers by disconecting the sensor and they will work as bob the basic intermitent with adjustment on the stalk (if fitted), also with the sensor connected you change the sensitivity of it by changing the intermitent speed switch (if fitted) Will soon find out when i get it all going!
  10. OK, i have got a few p/n's sussed, have a windscreen and sensor on order from the czech republic as no stock here in nz! wondering if anyones got a skoda wiring diagram relating to therain sensor?? the wiring at the mirror and sensor end is easy, just regarding the pickup for reverse is one im wondering about (just being finiky and trying to keep it look standard )
  11. Ive fitted the H&R bars to my beasty, cant rememeber the bar sizes but it was both a front and a rear, fitted rear first and wow what a transformation, then about a month later fitted up the front one (with a few swear words to boot as its a tight fit!) and it sharpened the car up nicely imo, the rear one is close to my exhaust box but i have a remus rear muffler and i had to modify the bracket on it and give the pipe a tweak to give me a little extra clearance! get the od knock at the moment but will sort that out once the weathers a bit better! Im running these with Vogtland springs and i get comments from a few people as to how well the car handles while driving it and how flat it stays while following me
  12. I like the old badge! where did that come from?? none of my 120's have a badge that big!!
  13. Couple of things id try as it sounds similar to what my car did intermitently (1.8T too, non VRs) the ignition ignitor on the airfilter box, unplug both plugs and put some electrical grease or vaseline on the contacts and pop them back on as this can cause missfires, and do you get a ticking type noise aswell?? as i found the 3 bolts holding the turbo to the manifold had come loose, tightened them and problem gone, was very strange that the loose bolts created an intermitent fault!
  14. I changed the front speakers to a set of alpine e type splits, where a good price, fitted into existing mounts and didnt foul anything, tweeters fitted in standard mounting points too! made a huge difference to the bass response
  15. Do your rear creaks/squeaks seem to be coming from inside the car?? Could be the rear seat catches, just wind the rubber stoppers out a bit to put a tad more pressure on the catch
