  1. I have a CG Motorsport dual friction clutch kit with a Sachs dmf on my pd130 seat Toledo. It's running fabookas high torque remap which made the standard clutch slip almost instantly,I would recommend it highly. Absolutely no slip,as light to use as the standard clutch and the whole lot cost £540.
  2. I recently fitted their dual friction clutch and duel mass flywheel to my pd130 seat Toledo after the standard clutch started to slip after it had been remapped by John at hidden power. Can't really fault it other than a very very slight shudder if you release the clutch slowly in first. If anything its very slightly lighter to use than the standard clutch. I would highly recommend them and reasonably priced as well.
  3. Hello,I bought the callipers for my 312 conversion from this company via eBay and would recommend them to anyone.
  4. Im thinking about selling my black 55 plate VRS,its got 74500 miles,11 months MOT,taxed til end of april, service history, shark remap ,312mm brakes and front rainsport 2 tyres that are only 2/3000 miles old. Passed MOT with no advisories. The car was a cat c repaired i bought from veedubs in Gateshead just over 2years ago. Veedubs told me it should never have been a c as it was easily no more than a cat d. The car needed a wing, bumper, headlight and intercooler, that was it. He was breaking a black vsr so it was simply a case of taking the bits off one car and fitting on to the other.Job done. Once i got the car home i still had a wee worry that there might be some hidden problem that i couldnt see or hadnt been told about. So took it to the garage iv used for many years to give the car a good check over, which they did and commented that it was 100% fine and the replacement parts had been fitted very well, 'a proper job' was his exact words. Anyway thats just a long winded way of saying dont worry about the cat c bit. Its a great wee car that goes and stops very very well and i love it to bits, but ideally id like to get back to having a car i can fit my 2 dobermanns in. If i can get £3000 for it il sell it, if not il happily keep it and wait til my other half sells her car and replace it with an estate. If your interested email me on [email protected]. If not, good luck with your search, they are great wee cars. Craig.
  5. Iv got rainsport 2`s on the front of mine, excellent grip in the dry and are immense in the wet. I havnt managed to get them to understeer in the wet yet ! Very reasonably priced from camskill.
  6. Iv got my partner, a 7yr old and a 17 month old and we can all fit in with a pram and a few other bits and pieces if carefully packed no problem. The thing thats making me think about selling my vrs is that even with the most carefull of packing, i struggle to get my 2 dobermans in no matter how hard i try !! passat estate will be next i think.
  7. Im 45, full no claims, i pay £245 fully comp with £195 excess with Hastings Direct.
  8. Iv seen a 4/5 ish mpg drop since i put a pair of uniroyal rainsport 2`s on the front of mine, definately worse than the Falken 492`s i had on it before. They cant half hold on in the wet though,i havnt managed to get it to understeer yet !! My previous car was a saab 95 aero which had avon zv5`s all round and havnt got a bad word to say about them,an excellent tyre at reasonable price. Camskill is the cheapest place iv found for tyres, check their prices before you buy.
  9. Iv had mine remapped with shark and it transforms the the car, very smooth and can still surprise me with how hard it can pull from low revs in a high gear and thats taking care not to floor it under 2k revs as much as possible. Iv had the 312mm brake conversion as well and can only highly recommend it whether your car has been remapped or not. Stronger with better feel,an excellent conversion (and not that expensive) for any vrs.
  10. I have just had a pair of rainsport 2`s fitted and have had a noticable 4/5 ish drop in MPG :(
  11. i have a set of standard shocks and springs off my 55 plate vrs. £50 and they are yours plus im not far away from you in polmont. Email me at [email protected]
  12. I have the same problem. My interior light comes on fine,my lights on buzzer does work very occasionally though and i just about keek myself when it does!! Im very interested to hear what the problem may be.
  13. I believe the reason ds2500 dont conform to reg 90 is that their working temp range is out with that stated in the regulation. Again dont quote me on that im just repeating what iv read elsewhere.
  14. My reason for wanting these pads/brakes is basically to have the best brakes i can have.I am no boy racer (44) but i do like to have a bit of fun with the car when im in it myself. I was thinking of upgrading my brakes to 312`s anyway but a wee heart in the mouth moment when i had to stop quick on a downhill slip road fully loaded with other half, kids, pram, shopping etc has "encouraged" me to get my brakes upgraded sooner rather than later. Now before anyone jumps on their keyboard to tell me my brakes are bound to offer significantly less braking in the above situation.....yes i know, but even one up i sometimes feel the brakes are a bit weedy when pushed. So many people on this forum and others, claim that the 312 brake upgrade is the best thing they have done to their fabia. I have read reports of how good/bad the ds2500 pads are on various forums, honda, ford, alfa etc and the overwhelming verdict from users is that these are the best pads they have ever used bar none."If you can afford them, get them" with the vast majority claiming that these pads stop perfectly from cold. I believe, though dont quote me on this, that Ferrodo themselves claim that they stop well from cold. Having said all the above if anyone has experience of cheaper pads that are as good/virtually as good i would be very interested to hear. Just as a point of interest, another opinion iv read over and over again (with a few exceptions it has to be said) on every forum discussing brake pads is "stay away from ebc pads as they are s***e" !! and best avoided. Fair comment ???
  15. Hello,im process of buying the parts to upgrade my brakes to 312mm discs.Does anybody know where to find the cheapest Ferrodo DS2500 front pads please. Thanks in advance for any help. Craig.
  16. I go at my vrs re-mapped at shark in november and i have to say my car drives as smooth as standard,it just goes a lot harder when you want it to.You wont regret it thats for sure. No you wont get a power print out unless you pay for a dyno run, which i think is £60.
  17. Have a look on the camskill website,iv got falken 912`s on the front of my vrs, they are very good and at £56 a tyre,i doubt you will get much better for the price.
  18. Can i ask what modifications you need to do to be able to use the expansion tank ?
  19. Hello, try Kamskill for tyres. They are very competitive with very reasonable postage charges.Iv got Falken ZE912`s on the front of my vrs which are excellent, you can get them for £53.80 inc vat each.I doubt you will find a better tyre for anywhere near that price.
  20. Hello,i had a very similar problem with my vrs.I changed the steering angle sensor and pump which achieved nothing. This was followed by lots of head scratching by two very good mechanics as they could not fathom what else could cause the problem. It turned out the problem was part of the wiring loom had been rubbing on a driveshaft and had rubbed through the plastic outer coating through to the core causing it to short out intermitantly. This might not be whats causing your problem but well worth checking before you go spending on the parts you mention. Craig.
  21. Thank you for all your advice,il look in to getting it vinyl wrapped.
  22. Hello,i have got a black vrs and i would like to have a colour coded radiator grill rather than the standard chrome type.Is there anywhere that sells a black replacement and how much do they cost,or is it best/cheaper to have the standard grill repainted? I think the colour coded grills look very smart and any info would greatly appreciated. Craig.
  23. Falken ZE912 £55.00 each from kamskill,iv got a shark remap and panel filter and iv got a pair of these on the front. For grip/performance and price, very very hard to beat.
  24. Hello,iv just had my vrs remapped at shark and i can only urge you to make the journey, you wont be disappointed. My car drives as smooth as standard but just goes a whole lot harder. Its now quite a little weapon on the motorway, which i enjoyed on my way back to falkirk in scotland, and yes it was well worth the journey. You wont regret it.
