  3. Just had a new timing belt and water pump on our 2008 tdi with 38k on the clock because I understood that 60k miles or 4 years was the required change interval. I have since noticed in the service booklet that for 3 cylinder diesels 150k km is the required change. Have I been over cautious?
  4. forgot to mention that the brake lights are working fine.
  5. guys the glow plug light is flashing on our 1.4 2008 fabia diesel. the engine management is also lit. I have read about the brake light switch on the earlier fabias....could this also affect the fabia ii if not, what are the likely causes? glow plugs? sensor?.....any help appreciated.

  11. i believe it is supposed to earth through the four retaining bolts that mount the motor onto the linkage bar. that explains why it worked for a while yesterday then failed again. putting it back onto the car it worked again today but i have also secured an additional earth lead as a 'fail-safe'.
  12. ok, update for anyone in future...it was poor earth that caused problem. motor was fine. also be aware that intermittent wipe doesn't work when bonnet up! thanks guys
