    17" steels?

I think he had no 16" in at that time but did have a set of 17"! He told me I could have them at the same deal price! But now I find it's not easy (maybe not possible) to find well priced suitable steels for 17".

    17" steels?

I've not posted for a while but continue to pick up lots of information from everyone! I think I've seen something posted previously but can't find it! I was given a good deal from National on winter tyres.... Dunlop 225 50 17. Talked to a couple of skoda dealers about acquiring suitable steels for them and got no where! Please can anyone shed any light on suitable, compatible steels for my Yeti, apparently it's easy for 16" but not for 17". Maybe audi, vw etc would fit? Surely there must be stuff out there. I looked at the tyre and rim guide and barely understood it, felt a bit out of my depth! Appreciate any advice...... apart from don't buy 17" tyres. I went in asking for 16" winters..... maybe he saw me coming as he had a 17" set in! I suppose at worst I simply swap them on my alloys each time. Thought now maybe a good time to get a decent deal. Thanks
  3. OMG. What a twit!! Thanks Carnivorous and Johann! Brilliant pic! I defs haven't got that button!! That means I am having/I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever. She is perfect! Think I got muddled with SWMBO BMW 320d, it's got Stop Start but she's scared to use it in case the car doesn't start at traffic lights etc!!!!!!!
  4. Hi again I've been the proud and delighted owner of a Yeti since November. 4 months down the road and still loving it! There is one problem, probably minor. The car has Start-Stop technology but as yet she hasn't stopped once. Yes, I've read/reread the blurb and naively thought it was due to low temperatures initially. Now a few months down the road and still not working. Handbrake on, in neutral, not touching the clutch, engine warmed up, on the level at lights...... engine refuses to cut out. The switch is not glowing so it's not disabled. Has anyone else had a problem with the stop/start? Am I missing something or is it a trip to the dealer some distance away? All advice gratefully received! Pleased this seems to be the only issue.
  5. Ooops! Well there we go! Just mentioned that I'm still waiting for £300 M&S vouchers and guess what arived this lunch time?! Sorry no prizes.... but SWMBO will now have her xmas pressie!! Gratefully received.
  6. Really feel for you - struggling to get my head round this! I ordered 19/3 but didn't sign till 24/3 so guess that was the date of my order. Told about 6 months wait. During the time I changed colour then changed it back. I added a host of extras almost one at a time, eventually taking most apart from electric driver's seat and satnav. My car was Elegance TDI 2.0 170 4x4 DPF. After a couple of build date changes I picked her up 31 weeks to the day. She was built after 28 weeks. Unless you have gone for DSG and they have a problem with this (?)I really can't understand. My dealer told me if I ordered same car now there was a 9 month wait. Been told I will get £300 M&S vouchers..... still waiting. Apparently can take up to 6 weeks for them to arrive. I don't think there is anything else on offer above the £300...but who knows. Sounds like you've been unlucky. I went from wk 37 to wk 43, to wk 40 so yours could change either way yet. I guess they'll close over Xmas so yours will be soon after New Year restart! Therefore maybe a fairly accurate build week. Sure you'll enjoy the SM when you get her. Still loving mine after 6 weeks. Hope it happens soon.
  7. I placed my order in mid March and pushed gently for the £300 compensation. Initially got different messages from SUK staff, the majority saying I qualified for it. My dealer and one person at SUK said not! I was told all cases on an individual basis! To collection mine took 31 weeks and I have been told I can have £300 M&S Vouchers (SWMBO's Xmas taken care of!!) I have enquired of late and have been told my dealer has sent in the necessary form.... but not to SUK, it goes to a different company. It takes around 6 weeks after this to receive them as they are very busy and have long lists (maybe one member of staff with list of 30 odd ) Hoping to get vouchers in next few weeks!! If you ordered in February and are therefore over the 6 month wait you should get them.... but they need time they tell me! Meanwhile enjoy your SM, love mine!
  8. Interestingly I discovered something about taxing a car, that I wasn't aware of, when I collected my new Yeti. I collected on October 24th and it had more than 12 months tax on it. The dealer said they were able to go beyond the 12 months if they were approaching the latter part of a month so the customer would not lose out. Therefore I had 12 months and 1 full week when I collected. This surely is something others must also have experienced?? So it seems a new buyer need not wait till the first day of a month to get 12 full months' tax!! Even at my age you still keep learning:rofl:
  9. WOW am I exhausted!! Wanted to make vcds changes looking for someone reasonably local to Durham. Thanks to Domhnall and his near neighbour for their offers... I came close to heading north! I did manage to find a local lad but unfortunately his lead was Chinese and wouldn't work fully.... think it was the CAN BUS???!!! He gave me a link to a lad in Newcastle (sadly similar lead from China) but he linked me to an administrator at Dubsnortheast who lives 15minutes away and has a VAGCOM genuine!! We spent some time this afternoon making changes.....though in my naivity I was looking to find Byte 17 IIRC...fortunately my new vagcom best friend spotted If I Remember Correctly!! I now have the staging and the large MPH..... loving them both, thanks to all who are involved. NOW, we tried changing the xenons to fogs for coming/leaving home. Not so easy. We got close, 09 central electric 07 coding Bit 3 then got lost. Tried ticking 'enable fogs for coming/leaving home' and playing with the 'xenon headlights with shutternwithout additional highbeam installed' ticked. Exit. Do It. Couldn't get them to come on. BUT think we need to do this part again in the dark so the light sensor click in!! Almost there but not quite. (above from memory). Anyone able to complete the instructions? Maybe we got it right but need darkness? Thanks again. STILL LOVING NEEDLE SWEEP and LARGE DIGI MPH.
  10. Mine took 3 weeks from build to me driving her away. Probably could have been about 4 days sooner but was away in Cardiff. You will love it! Had mine about 3 weeks and still in awe - love looking at her, love driving her. Almost there. Last two weeks drag on, but well worth the wait.
  11. Geja Yeti Elegance 2.0 4x4 TDI CR 170 in Brilliant Silver Near Durham Extras: Heated windscreen Tyre Pressure Monitor then added Spare wheel Panoramic Roof Rough Road Package Park Assist All done in 31 weeks.... still thrilled! Probably would have had more extras if I had to wait a bit longer!
  12. Thanks Johann, sadly it seems the instructions to change coming home/leaving home lights from xenons to fogs isn't there. I'm fine with the other two changes (I hope)..... but not xenons to fogs! Think they must be around but can't find them!
  13. Ok, think I've found good instructions for NEEDLE SWEEP and LARGE MPH but still can't find how to stop my Xenons coming on as coming home/leaving home lights and use my fogs to do that job. Appreciate instructions please!
  14. The instructions for setting up the large MPH are great, but can someone post how to do the needle sweep and the fogs instead of xenons for coming/leaving home please? It seems straight forward with the right gear. Or maybe I'm blind and the details are here somewhere..... point me to the post if there is one.. Thanks
  15. I am still looking for the needle sweep and large MPH. I appreciate the offer from domhnall which I may take up. This is an each way trip of about 130 miles.... is there anyone a bit nearer please? Areas such as Teeside, Tyneside, Cumbria and North Yorkshire are closer - and I'm happy to travel! I've been into the owners list but don't know exactly what I'm looking for apart from Vagcom. To domhnall, thanks for kind offer.... it's currently top of my list!! Here's hoping.

    Naming Yetis

I can't understand why some people anthropomorphize things like cars!! Never done it myself.... till I recently saw this thing of beauty! NO - SWMBO was at work! It was so stunning it had to be a SHE. Said somewhere else, someone said call her CHESS as she's built by your Czech mates:oops: sorry to those who've already seen that:lol: So she had to have a name. All the good one's were gone, Betty, Betti, Hetti etc. So I needed something young, attractive... and came up with SHILPAH. I guess named after that stunning actress Shilpah Shetty (hope it's spelt right!) By the way it's Shilpah's birthday today - one week old. She's doing remarkably well and looking very good thanks to someone who posted about collinite! Grateful. She's sparkling!
  17. Looks terrific! Must try to get some photos of mine up too. Went for brilliant silver though still love the white. It stands out well in the pics.
  18. New Yeti and would love to add the needle swing and large mph in maxidot. I am willing to travel (love driving Yeti) if anyone can help? Thanks
  19. Yes, I collected her last Tuesday... and she is stunning! A friend said I should call her CHESS as she was built by my Czech Mates :LOL:ROFL: But no, she is SHILPA and will so remain. There are so many things to get used to - buttons everywhere which do all manner of things, and a thick handbook! I will steadily work through the bits I need to and the bits that interest me, but currently it's a lot of try and see. The panoramic roof certainly has the wow factor, so pleased I got it. I will try to sort some photos but nothing will come close to Maffa's from me! I will post my impressions/findings when she is a little older! Interestingly when I told the salesman I had waited 31 weeks, he smiled and said for the model I have, it is now a 9 month wait! Guess it is a kind of 'birth'. Finally, 2 things missing - I would love the needle swing and the large MPH in the maxidot... I gather this is done with vagcom?
  20. That explains a lot!! The dealer I'm using is in Northumberland! While I am hugely excited/frustrated as each day drags as I'm nearly past the post the dealer seems oblivious. If he's supplying lots in the area the excitement has gone perhaps! I'm getting the heated front screen too!!!
  21. Well done in sourcing your Yeti. I wish you many hours of enjoyable driving. There seems no rhyme or reason to any system Skoda have in accepting orders and building. I ordered in mid March, probably about 6 weeks after you, and am waiting delivery..... I hope! I'm told she was built in week 40, October 6th. So I waited over 28 weeks. The word on this site is hopefully about 3 weeks after for delivery/collection from dealers. Since build week I am struggling to get any info from the salesman. Hasn't replied to my emails... so I guess a telephone call is coming on! Before the end of September I was a Code 20 - yet you ordered 6 weeks earlier than me. Surely you should have been code 20 well before me? I realise that choice of options can impact on build date. I went for most, like you, including panoramic roof. The main difference is, I assume, you added a satnav to your order? I didn't, but surely that wouldn't delay things this long! Still thinking about winter tyres! Wish I was driving mine on Friday!!
  22. Wonderful!! She it he looks brill! Mine was apparently built last week but I've heard nothing since. I'm emailing my dealer tomorrow to find out where SHILPA is! Just seeing you beside yours makes me feel that'll be me in a couple of weeks! Wonder how well you'll sleep these next few nights!! Worth the wait? Interested in reading your early impressions when you're in possession! Cheers
  23. That sounds great!! Hope you get a fast turnaround. Hope mine comes as quickly as yours! Shilpa's being built this week! Exciting times! Hope you sleep ok....I've struggled the last few weeks:rofl: Think I'll pop and surprise my dealer this week!
  24. I actually drove a Sportage and quite liked it. Then I went next door and drove a Yeti and that was that. Found no comparison in the drive (though can't remember what models they were)then driving position and visibility seemed superior. Still think the Sportage and the Hyundai iX35 are good vehicles and definitely on the right track, but the overall drive of the YETI easily persuaded me to tolerate the 6 month wait. No regrets yet but still no Yeti (being built this week). The offered me a good deal on a Sportage which they had in stock too! As for your thinking about a BMW 320d tourer.... my wife drives the saloon. A lovely car, a great drive, very good performance and economy...... BUT off road for 3-4 months of the year! I have managed to reverse off the drive three times over the last 2 years and every time was totally stuck sideways across the road, yes I had bags of sand etc in the boot... but no traction at all. I was amazed at James' comments about the 1 series with winter tyres driving up a ski slope!! I still haven't decided about winters on the 4x4 Yeti, but I'm sure I'll get off my drive!!

    WE LOVE SUK

I have been waiting today for exactly 27 weeks since my order. I have had several discussions with SUK staff and had assorted answers re Goodwill payments...... 'each on their merits' it seems. Well 'Shilpa' gets built next week, then add shipping time etc and I'm guessing a max of 32 weeks before I am driving her. She is built after I have waited 28 weeks. Yesterday I received a call from SUK who had been reviewing my request.... and I need to contact my dealer (who has been informed) and agree £300 worth of accessories, servicing or M&S vouchers. I am really pleased about this even though SWMBO will probably benefit most!! Good luck to others who are trying.
