  1. Just for reference - I have a 2011 1.6 TDI Golf and get very good fuel economy - since new the economy is 59mpg motorway driving at 75 mph - (whole journey av) 55mpg A road driving - 50-60mph - (whole journey av) - 65 - 75 mpg very please with the economy and find the engine to be powerful enough to overtake when needed and comfortably cruises at 75mph I am due to change company car next year so read these threads with interest.....
  2. looks great - be interested to know how the 1.6 dsg fairs on the higher motorway cruising sppeds?
  3. I am in a similar position - so interesting read above..... I currently have a 1.6tdi in my golf and to be honest had no problems with power both on motorways and A roads. I may go for the OCT III 1.6 DSG in my new company car but am sure to change my mind a few times before that!! My current fuel economy is well into the 60mpg from the onboard computer
  4. Hi All Been a long time lurker in the forum as previously owned a Superb estate. I am due for a company car change next year so am now looking around at the different options..... I currently have a VW Golf 1.6TDI Match which has saved me a fortune in company car tax over the previous Superb 170ps!!! but am very keen on the new Octavia estate. This should still be less painful on tax but bigger than my current Golf - winner!! But not decided on whether to go for 1.6 dsg or 2.0 dsg? - my current 1.6 in the golf seems to be a good engine and I get some great return on fuel - average (longterm) circa 60mpg! any thoughts? Marcus
  5. This is not an option after the first 3 letters/numbers it then goes to list not keyboard - list all options for area!! then you have to put in road etc etc pain in the ar5e!!!
  6. Ok had some success! Borrowed a disk of a friend and loaded the poi which now work well. But the sat nav is still not how it should be? When I click on add destination it always goes to country, I type in Europe, next option town/postcode, I type the first 4 letters/numbers in but that's it does not let me type the remaining 2 letters in? Just gives me an option of eg SN1 4, SN1 5 etc etc........ Is this it? Or can you search by 6 digit postcodes? By the way Skoda UK said the local dealer should get me a bigger car but the dealer is refusing and saying Fabia or nothing?!? Many thanks
  7. I will mention this to my dealer - Im in Wiltshire so Epson is a little too far but thanks for the offer.
  8. I forgot to mention - the solution is to put a DVD in the car for 40 mins?!?!?
  9. Hi The dealer said they would need to have the car in for the day - so thats the need for a coutesy car - my superb boot is full to the roof with work products so would need to transfer this to another vehicle for that day. The technical guy is on holiday thats not a problem - but not to have anyone else who can help? - thats not acceptable. When I go on holiday i dont tell my customers that the company cant help you for two week? I have contacted Lex but they say its a new car and this is a warranty issue - which it is?
  10. Hi All Took receipt of my Skoda Superb 170ps Elegance only a couple of weeks ago. I have had issues with the Sat Nav (5 digit postcodes and no POI) I have contacted Skoda twice and my local Skoda dealer a few times but so far no solution. The dealership said the person with the technical knowledge is on holiday for 2 weeks so can not help. When I asked about a coutesey car they can only offer a entry level Fabia which is no use for my work committments. They said they can offer no other option? I can live without the sat nav and use my TomTom but when you spend good money you expect the goods you requested. I have been having lease cars now for 15 years and this is the most problems I have had - I will be going back to the BMW's and Audis again after this car runs out. Skoda need to stick to cheap cars as thats the service they offer
  11. Only have Fabias as a coutesey car? no good if you need large boot for work - they couldnt offer any different so I am stuck?
  12. Hi James Be good if you can have a look - local garage has not a clue - and only a small issue not having the POI but you expect to have all functions working on a new car. For some reason the Columbus did not turn of when I turned the engine of and took the key out? pressing the power button did nothing? went back to check 20 mins later and its still on!! Not having a good time with this system! first time I have had a problem with a car since using lease schemes for 10 yrs now! thanks marcus
  13. Hi again Is it easy to load the maps and poi yourself as my local dealer has no space for 2 and half weeks which is shocking!! Please can you assist with links or information on where i can download the data many thanks Marcus
  14. How do you do a factory reset? The dealer said since 2011 the sat nav data is installed at factory so no cd? Is this right? Cheers
  15. Hi All I took delivery of my new Skoda Suberb 170ps elegance estate on Friday of last week but am having some issues with the Sat Nav! When I pressed the POI button the screen frooze with the screen saying 'please wait.....' but it stayed like this for ages even restarting the engine had no effect. I then went to maps and tried to enter poi on the set up but the same thing happened! now the poi message on both of them is no longer highlighted. I have emailed and phoned the garage but they are not keen to help stating the obvious like 'have you pressed the poi button'!!! Any help on this would be good By the way - the car itself is great! Hand over from the garage was shocking - the delivery guy did not have a clue - all he showed me was that there was an unbrella in the door!!!! thanks in advance marcus
