I got mine on March 8th. Ordered at tail end of September initially. I was told January at first. Great car - worth the wait!

Great, thank you guys! Made me feel a lot better about it now, as wasn't looking forward to have to splice into the loom on a brand new motor! Haven't looked at the dash cam yet, but I'm thinking about a permanent live hardwire, so it will pick up anyone near the car when it's parked up. Will update once I've fitted!

I'm getting a dash cam this week for the new 245. Has anyone fitted one to a newer vRS? Just wondering what the interior comes apart like. Last thing I want to do it break something on a brand new car - or just as bad, create a rattle! Normally very good at stuff like this, just a bit nervous with it being new. Also, where did people wire into? I will go searching for what I need with a test lamp, but would be handy to have an idea! Thanks all!

Just taken delivery of my new 245 DSG. Really pleased with the car. After a few days with the car I noticed that when it's started from stone cold, there is a little whine for about 1/2 a second when you start it. It's like a mechanical belt whine. This only happens from stone cold and doesn't do it again if you turned it off and restarted straight away. Has anyone else had this? Obviously I don't want to go taking it in for them to investigate and find there's nowt wrong!

Today was a good day (mostly)!... Finally went to pick my 245 DSG in red up Spent a lot of the day in the car. I must say that I'm extremely impressed with the car. It's an absolute joy to drive and feels like a quality product. The seats are beautiful and the best visual feature of the car for me. Inside is laid out so nicely and the infotainment is excellent and easy to use. The acceleration of the car is quite frankly effortless and puts a big smile on my face for sure! It has the potential to easily be a licence-loser if you're not careful! The car is not specced with DCC - the car is stiffer than your usual 5 door hatch, but it's more than acceptable. Oh and I've made sure to test the electro/mechanical diff out - works amazingly well and is actually quite subtle in operation compared to the fully mechanical Quaife in my Fabia, which can snatch you inwards quite violently in comparison. The diff really does inspire you with confidence - the car hasn't easily lost grip despite being FWD, and it has been lashing it down all afternoon. Brakes work very well (not tried anything too daring yet) and I'm pleased to report that they are not over-servo'd - a problem many newer cars have in my opinion. To sum up, the car is an amazing day to day car - it doesn't excel at any area of performance, but it does everything so well that I think it would be difficult to beat. My one bad point of the day is that I thought I'd chipped the front grille on the motorway on the way home. However, upon inspection of pictures I took at the dealership on collection, it appears it was already chipped!! Not very pleased about this. I did give the car the once over, but must have missed this. I zoomed in on the grille in the pictures and low and behold it was there to see. Will be getting in touch with the dealer tomorrow and see what they come back with. It's a damn good job that I took pictures!

On the back of the last post... I'm meant to be collecting the new Octy 245 on Friday, so have been shopping around for insurance quotes. Since I last put quotes in a month ago, the price for the Octy has now gone back down by £300 and is fairly sensible again!!! On the new address too. Unbelievable...

I'm in the same boat with my new 245 next Friday! Never leased before either...

Email today... car is at port of Emden in Germany awaiting a transport order! Also had confirmation of being on an 18 plate. Starting to get excited!

I have no idea! As they didn't tell me anything. Sent a rather more aggressive email and they then told me that my build weeks were floating between 3 and 10 at various stages. Yet I wasn't told, despite asking...

Well, had an email off the nice lady from Skoda to tell me that I'm now a confirmed build - 22nd January

I will give praise where it's due... the lady I've been dealing with has emailed me back within 30 minutes of me firing it off. She will be passing the complaint on. I am slightly annoyed that previous unconfirmed build weeks have been floating about for ages but not communicated to me despite me asking for any news. However, it's now sitting at an unconfirmed build week 4 (from 10, to 3, to 6 and now 4!). She is hoping it will get confirmed on this new build week. Shame you have to push for a bit of blummin' communication!

Just fired off an official complaint to Skoda. Ordered 25th September. No sign of a build week...
