  1. Parking. We live in a road which is not a through road. There is enough parking for each of us to park outside of our houses and it's an unwritten rule that we park outside our own house, and leave other spaces empty for our neighbours to return home and park in. Around the corner less than 30 metres is a car park. Everyday without fail the people who are too cheap to put a 50p carpark ticket park really badly up our street. So badly at times they have blocked the entire street in for over 2 hours. Monday nights however are when we all get our revenge. For this is the night we all put our rubbish out, and the chancers don't know this. Climbing through a week of bin bags from 10 houses to get in your car. It only happens once before they **** off again
  2. We are entitled to £10 for lunch, £20 for an evening meal. 45p per mile for travel in my own car. I've had to put up with some pretty cheap hotels but never to share a room, I'd have done the same as you. Travelling for work soon loses novelty, the least you want is to close your door at the end of a days work a collapse on the bed in private.
  3. No doubt Steve would have been a success with or without Apple. Out of interest have you read Steve Wozniak's biography? Now there's a guy I like.
  4. Thought I'd throw this in as it's an interesting read: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-19557497
  5. Having worked in tech for over 10 years I'm just not interested in minor iterations especially when covered in a sickly Apple gloss. I don't know why people are suckered into it. What's most important is "can it do what I need to", and "does it offer anything that can make my work easier to manage". I've used plenty of Iphones but never felt the urge to buy one, it offers nothing that interests me that my knackered old Blackberry can't do. The Nokia Lumia interests me for the camera quality/trickery, and I'll be interested to see how seamless it is with an Exchange server. Other than that....it's just a phone people, what's the big deal.
  6. Filled up at 1.34 euros in France this week. But then paid 20 euros to go down a toll road. What frustrates me is not the price of diesel, but the lack of feasible alternatives. It would cost me more to take the train to work every day than to take my car with 4 empty seats 50 miles a day. That isn't right.
  7. I sold a C64, boxed with all polys instructions and some games for £40 on ebay. Have sold a LOT of my vintage computer collection over the last year. Most I got for one for £270 for an Atari ST which was still sealed as new. Unless your C64 is in brand new condition it won't get a lot, there are plenty of them around.

  10. A Gold Mk3 Escort 1.1, cherished for decades by a little old man. One year of driving to college later and it was a wreck, shame on my teenage self.
  11. I like. I also like the Pegasus very much, I really should get the scuffs refurbed on mine to get them looking as nice as yours.
