  1. Dealer was supposed to have them but they never arrived in time when I picked the car up so a courier brought them to my house
  2. Vouchers arrived yesterday - £400 as promised!
  3. Just to close off, I collected the car on 22nd October and it's all good - Total wait ended up at 37 weeks, which isn't so bad considering some of the other posters on Briskoda! Stumbled into 3 years free servicing too as that's the current campaign - Nice! Promised £400 in M&S vouchers as a good will gesture but I'll have to wait two months for those - Might get them before Xmas if I'm lucky! Good luck to all those who are still waiting - I still believe that Skoda's products are worth waiting for!
  4. It's a cracked cylinder block apparently - Only tiny but enough to leak fluid on a regular basis - It's a bit worrying that it's done it from new though - Is it just one of those things that a few slip through the manufacturing process with a fault or are they cutting corners with the quality of the metal they use? - Net result is I won't see my Yeti back until nearly the end of November whilst I wait for the part to come in - The dealer has been excellent to be fair, and has been keeping me fully informed and genuinely seems to care - I have a courtesy car for the duration of the repair - However, I reckon if this is the end of the problem I'll have been without my Yeti for a total in excess of six weeks whilst the investigations and repairs have been undertaken, and it is inconvenient going back and forth to the dealer (seven times in total now!) - Has anyone experienced anything like this and is it reasonable to expect the manufacturer to offer some good will or compensation?
  5. I've been told £400 by both SUK and the dealer - Don't know if £300's the threshold for Fabias and £400 for Octavias perhaps?
  6. Got it! All good! Gonna have to wait two months for the £400 of M&S vouchers though! Simply clever??? Simply delayed more like!!!
  7. Picking the car up later today - Just over 37 weeks from the date of the order - That doesn't seem so bad compared to some of the other people on here - WIll post again when I get my hands on it, just in case it's the wrong colour....
  8. Still leaking alas - Dealer has put more UV dye in and asked for it back for a week when it's done another 1000 miles - Will be dropping it off end of October so they can take it apart - I'm guessing the culprit will be the water pump - Will update in due course...
  9. Progress!!! SUK called to say car will hopefully be built w/c 19/9/11 so should have it mid to late October - Spoke of £400 in M&S vouchers or accesories or servicing as compensation - Will update when I hear more...
  10. Dealer had it back into check and advised that this was a normal part of it settling in after fitting of new EGR valve - Said low coolant sensor is ultra sensitive but should be ok from here on in - No further leaks found apparently - Let's hope this is my last post on the matter....
  11. I too love xenons! Is your car a six speed or seven speed DSG?
  12. Reading through some of these posts, it seems it's not just Fabia issues, so here's my two posts regarding my delay experience.... One - I ordered an Octavia Estate 1.8 TSI L&K DSG on 9th February 2011 with several optional extras (sunroof, privacy glass, phone prep & wheel, silver roof rails) with an estimated delivery of mid-May - Had a call from the dealer today and my car hasn't made it onto his latest build week list which runs to week 43 now - Apparently plenty of DSG-equipped vehicles are getting through too so that component isn't the cause of the delay, despite what I was told by SUK - Looking increasingly likely that I won't get my car in 2011! - vRS I'm trading in for it runs out of MOT in January so will be interesting to see if dealer will meet the cost of that if new car still not available - Will update nearer the time - Something has certainly gone wrong at Skoda this year though - This'll be my 4th brand new one (2002 Fabia Estate, 2003 Octavia L&K TDI 130 Estate & 2010 Yeti Elegance TDI 170 previous orders) and I've never waited more than 14 weeks for a car - Strange times... Two - 28 weeks later and I still haven't got a build date - Have been getting fortnightly updates from Will at SUK but he hasn't been able to give me anything concrete regarding a build date so far - Availability of DSG boxes was mentioned again in the last call as a likely cause of delay so I can only assume that the factory is prioritising Fabia vRS's over my car as I note on the forum that their buyers are getting delivery dates - Would like to think I'll still get the car this year but losing confidence by the day - Does anyone know a definite release date for the Mark 3 Octavia in the UK? Would assume at least 2013? - Hopefully will have at least one year driving the current model! - Call me old-fashioned, but it shouldn't take less time to have a baby than it does to build and delivery a car??? 12 weeks to go until that theory goes to pot!!!
  13. Thanks for the reply - I guess that's the logical way to go next - I'll update again when it's hopefully all better!

  15. EGR valve replaced beginning of August - Low coolant message appeared just over two weeks later - It's clearly something else - Could it be the water pump? - Has anyone else been through this? Getting a bit miffed! - Waiting call from dealer to see where we go from here...
  16. The plumber did good! Just had the car serviced and they put a dye in the coolant system to identify the leak, and it has indeed shown up as the EGR valve - Getting replaced in a couple of weeks - Will update to confirm if this ends the problem - Thanks again for your input!

  18. Thanks for the reply - The engine temperature has never gone above the normal setting - The car's now done 18000 miles and I'd estimate it's had more than a litre in water top-ups - Don't know what the coolant capacity is, but fear this is a fairly significant dilution of the anti-freeze effect!
  19. Hi Bobdog - Not sure exactly what the process is when the dealer pressure tests the coolant system, but I'd hope a rad leak would reveal itself, although can't be sure - Just been searching the site by the engine rather than the model and it seems a lot of people in the Octavia vrs suffer the same problem - Trouble for me is that I've got one of those too and it's never lost a drop of coolant! - Much suggestion that it could be a cracked head and seems that Skoda aren't overly willing to properly investigate it - Oh dear!
  20. I've owned a Yeti Elegance TDI 170 bhp since April 2010 and whilst I'm very happy with the car, it does have a recurring issue, namely that it looses coolant. Roughly every 2000 miles the "coolant low" warning comes on and the reservoir will require about 100ml's of water to silence the alarm - I've had it into two dealerships to investigate the problem and both claim to have pressure tested it and have found no obvious fault, and have ventured that some cars do use a bit of coolant early on and it isn't something to be concerned about. However I'm under the impression that the coolant is a sealed system and the level should remain relatively static, so something is definitely amiss if the level keeps dropping. Also I assume that every time I top it up with a little water, I'm diluting the anti-freeze which could have consequences if we have another cold winter. Has anyone suffered a similar problem and found the source of it?
