  1. I noticed the other day that my passenger side one doesnt move -- havent done any diagnostics yet but it looks like a new headlight then... Another trip to the dealer :(
  2. Probably a de-gauss sorted it, many CRTs do this every time they are switching on.
  3. TBH with the shape of the Octy I dont think the aerodynamics of the wipers is going to make a huge difference in the 0-60 sprint or windnoise stakes. Personally, I just think they look better. Oh and they wipe water from the windscreen in an efficient manner, whether they are better than the originals is something I wont be losing sleep over
  4. There is a better standard hatch one that is on later models, does anyone know if this has the washer built in as well? May just be a straight swap (yeah right!)
  5. I've just had my linkage and then my wiper motor replaced. My symptoms were a very slow and juddery sweep - noticeably worse after rainfall and my car had been standing for a while, ie, overnight. I first had the linkage replaced hoping this would resolve the issue, however after that was done it almost immediately started to stop mid sweep or move a couple of inches and stop intermittently. A switch off of the ignition and back on parked the wipers OK. I then had the motor replaced and they have been much better since (only done yesterday but they have been well tested in rainy Manchester since!). One thing I notice now is that I can hear the wiper motor in the car where as before not at all.
  6. Got mine today! New wiper motor going in on Wednesday so this will be a job for Weekend I think.
  7. As above, cheap and cheerful from your dealer!
  8. Cheers Matt for the work - my order is in. Just good timing actually as I had my wiper linkage replaced yesterday in preparation
  9. Finally got round to putting the Pioneers in - I used speaker wiring adapters so I can easily put the originals back in when I sell on. I pulled the tweeter cable down behind the membrane and connected to the woofer. The passenger side had already been 'modified' by cutting by a previous owner - i've had no leakage issues but will closely monitor this over the coming weeks. The sound difference is amazing. I'm very pleased with the results - I'd keep the standard head unit but want something that plays MP3s and has bluetooth handfree, like the Pioneers or Becker Grand Prix. Time to save some pennies tho Cheers for all the advice in this thread - very usefull.
  10. That would be good timing - just been paid
  11. I'm in the process of trying to claim for a seizing wiper linkage - I have the Elita policy though Skoda's approved car scheme. The warranty company say its covered but i'm having a few admin issues as to when the dealer took out the warranty compared to when I purchased the vehicle... Should be sorted soon enough.
  12. I was reading that thread earlier With winter pretty much here (well it seems that way) its gonna happen sooner rather than later me thinks
  13. Mine are getting sluggish for the first couple of wipes as well. Will need to do this before fitting the aero wipers I think.
