  1. 2001 Nov 4x4 1.8T 126000km now chipped when 60000. Changed: all Coilpacks DV Front disk Front and back w bearings (this year) Main fuse block on top of battery - meltdown About 3 years ago it had a problem with the haldex or ABS - nobody knows realy what was the PB - a computer reset was enough 500ml oil/10.000km now in short urban driving I have noticed a knock a about three weks ago - the exhaust middle hook welding is broken I did not have another car for such a long time as this one but I consider the car reliable

  3. The headlights dimmed the dashboard as well. No response to throttle. Its the battery i tought (4years) - as it was night and on my way home i decided to get on to a taxi an buy a new battery. Connected the new battery - everything normal - 10 minutes to home - headlights dim again. On close inspection next morning a slight melt mark on the fuse case on the top of the battery. Open it and realized that bad contact for long time created a heavy burn like oxidation on the 110A fuse nut/washer/ bolt (the one with the black cable - I assume is the charger cable). I had to change the whole fuse case - about eur50 + work. My advice: - tighten the nuts
  4. I have an estate1.8t 4x4 with 120.000km. It was upsolute chipped at 60.000km with a vRS map. Mainly urban driving. I am now like on a positive cashflow and I was thinkinking about investing in a new clutch - however no signs of problems now. Shall I wait untill i feel some clutch problems? How long can I drive the car after first feel them? Another one: Is it ok to flush the engine when i change oil next time (never did it before) - do you recommend any specific product to do that?   5. Hi Eddie 16 , I had a similar problem some 2 years ago Here is what I did posted back then Hi Podwin, So they did sort it out. To recap my problems (as they were not exactly similar to yours): 1)Esp did not lit 2)Strong vibrations of the rear wheels while turning in the parking / cornering. I am unable to tell you what exactly they did but here is what I have seen and I have been told: 1)They spotted something wrong on their handheld computer (in german) related to the acc sensor / related data 2) the car was lifted the Haldex ECU reconnected then tried to set some parameters related to acc sensing - but the guy was not convinced that the ECU accepted the paramater setting according to some responses displayed 3) while the car in the air "back an forth" for a few seconds 4)Test drive (about 1mile several corners max 40mph) - disapointment - the vibrations while sharp turns still there 5) BUT on final return to garage - the vibarations disapeared 6) Extended the test drive - on "power mode", sharp turns, donuts, but no more vibrations 7) Car still under survailance if the pb kicks back.   6. The dealer offered me something that sound refurbished - it was significantly cheaper while I have to let them keep the old one - I think they send them back to factory and equip the old housing with meta impeller
  7. 006 - Unfortnately he has to focus on the models representing 99.9% sales in romania and less on the RS - thats because of the romanian consumer profile. I think that 90% of car buyers looking above 150bhp did not consider RS as an option. Maybe this will improve with Octi II RS
  8. My friend is the Skoda - Brand Manager for Romania - He has been at Mlada Boleslav for one of their regular meetings and among other things he drive the new RS. As he had other things to do and not beeing an RS fan he didnt pay to much attention to details (he told me something about alcantara seats) - The delaers in romania will take orders starting november as quota for romania is already set. Regarding the diesel version there will be something of 160-170bhp (he will check on his notes and i will come back to you) starting april 2006 Due to his position - he will not be the one releasing pictures before the official campain - first official pics to be expected in september. FJ, I have no particular knowledge on engines - but my feeling tells me that those messages are related to erroneus voltages received by ecu from different sensors - I am suggesting to check loose conectors/conections (also use some contact spray) on the cables path that transmit those voltages to ECU. Check also tight gnd connections and battery voltage under full range of rpm. good luck!
  14. My experience: I have this ARX engine on my 4*4. About A year ago I asked upsolute to provide me the same chip (map) as it would for a vRS. They did it in a half hour with the ZIF EPROM. Now after 30000km I am happy with it. They claim 210+bhp perfomance but I could not find anybody else that have done the same and had the chance to get a dyno run. It is true that I feel that the torque peaks at 3200rpm and decrease a little after - but I think thats what you can get for a standard remap and 300e +VAT.
