  1. Hi All, hopefully this is the right place for someone to assist with my issue. I have a problem with my 2005 vRS (completely standard) where I have a misfire, or what feels like a misfire, from a cold start when accelerating. As soon as the car is halfway up to regular running temperature it clears and runs normally. To me it feels Like it could be fuel related. I can’t recall the last time the fuel filter was changed so wondering if I should start there first? Just seems odd how it clears once it’s up to temperature. Any suggestions or info would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Sorry to bring up an old thread, but guess that's what the search function is for. My vRS needs a new DMF as the current one is rattling quite a bit now. Would people recommend getting a SMF for the Fabia or stick with the DMF?
  3. Thanks for the info guys, will have to visit my local Skoda dealer soon then to get the part ordered. Any rough estimates on cost? Yes it came off ok, when I first got the car swapped some wheels around and they were stuck on then, so we greased them up then. Might give it some more once we get some dry weather again.
  4. Hi guys, I had a puncture on Saturday evening and was in a bit of a rush to change the tyre, and it appears I have left my security nut socket in the car park, or in the wheel after changing(which has subsequently fallen out). I've only just realised it's missing as I was just about to head out to get a new tyre sorted and found it's missing. Does anyone have one I can purchase or do I need to go to a Skoda dealer to get such an item?
  5. Sorry to bring up an old thread guys, but thought i'd use this than start another. What Wet Vac would people recommend that I use? My seats are in desperate need of a clean. Edit - Just read the thread properly, and did a bit of research on the Rug Doctor. Looks like i'm heading to my local morrisons in the morning!
  6. Only problem with that is, they say delivery 5-7working days, I need it by Wednesday :(
  7. Can anyone recommend anywhere good to get an injector wiring loom? Any good websites?
  8. I don't have the patience to do that to my Fabia, but I must say that looks bloody lovely now!
  9. Thanks for the help mate. I'm not a first class spanner twirler either so i'm probably best off get a mechanic to do it. The symptoms you've described about it being fine when cold and then go funny when hot is exactly the same as mine.
  10. Will keep them in mind if the wiring loom doesn't fix the problem.
  11. Are there any good reliable sites for finding car parts, or am I best just taking it to a Skoda garage?
  12. Is there anywhere I can find out the part numbers for the car?
  13. Brilliant thanks for that John. I will try and find a new or used wiring loom now and see if I can get that fitted and see if it cures the problem. If not, it looks like it'll be a new injector (obviously )
  14. Just took the car out again as needed to check tyre pressures. 5 mins down the road, car starts going all juddery again, engine light and traction control light came on again. It's even lumpy when just idling. Can it really just be an electrical fault, or is it the injector itself?
  15. Is there an issue in the PD range with Wiring Looms or the injectors them selves? How much would a new wiring loom cost to have fitted? I'm not exactly 'made of money' you see.
  16. Thanks. Must say there are some very nice Fabia's on here!
  17. Hi all, have just bought a 2005 Fabia vRS, and i've got a bit of a problem. Just been out in the car, and the engine light has come on as well as the traction control light. The car wouldn't drive properly (it was all juddery) and was acting as if the traction control kept cutting the power. I've just taken the car to a local garage and they plugged in their diagnostic machine, and it came up with a fault saying Injector Cylinder 1 Open. The guy did say that VWs have a had a similar problem before, so just wondering if Fabias have had this problem too? He deleted the error/fault which meant the engine light went back to normal, and driving home again the light didn't come on and the car drove fine. Any help/tips or previous problems with Fabia's regarding this issue please? Off to Ireland Thursday, so could do with it being sorted before then if possible.
  18. Evening all, just bought a 2005 Skoda Fabia vRS (my first Skoda!) and have been told this is the place to come for anything Skoda related. Already have a bit of a problem, so will get myself in technical forum and see if anyone can help.
