  1. Hi, Some of you may have seen my post from a month or so ago when my vRS was written off :( I have now replaced it with a 2011 A6 2.0 TDI 170 so i presume same as the vRS? Now comes the strange part, difficult to explain so please bear with me! The situation was turning right from a main road into a side road, busy road so I had to give it some to ensure I didn't cause a hazard to any oncoming traffic. Revs at around 2500 in 1st gear depressed the clutch after clearing the road and the engine juddered. Almost as if was sticking or not a smooth release. Has anyone please got any ideas at least when I take it into Audi tomorrow I won’t be fobbed off! On another note I really miss the vRS! Thanks, Chris
  2. Agreed the main thing is non of us suffered life threatening injuries. However the front of the car is designed to crumple far more than the rear which is where we were hit. A smashed bumper and a twisted chassis may not look to serious on first looks but I can assure you my back at the moment is significantly worse than damage caused to the car. Once again thank you for all the supporting comments.
  3. Looking at getting an Audi A6 just for a change, back to Skoda when the new VRS is out I think!
  4. Thank you all for the support, its been a difficult week, the damage according to the insurance valuation guy was easily reparable but I guess its better to be safe than sorry. I had a spare wheel added when I purchased the car and am hopefully having it dropped off by the salvage company this week. It is brand new continental 205/55 R16 can send a picture if interested I wouldn't want much for it but let me know also a boot liner for a hatch I think it was 60 new but again open to offers! Around the Basingstoke area. Thanks again for the kind posts, Chris
  5. It knocked us about 15m into the middle of a junction, i also think by the point the policeman took these pictures it had already been taken away.
  6. I believe it was an old Peugeot, as you say it does make you question what is important, they think the speed at impact was between 40 - 45 mph.
  7. I forgot to add we were stationary when we were hit!
  8. How many people have said that to me! I had the door open and was just about to when I was told firmly to stay still!
  9. Unfortunately last week we were involved in an accident, although the accident damage looked minor I am told the chassis would have needed to be straightened out. This would have been no problem until I mentioned when dialling 999 that we had sore necks. It was at that point I was told the roof would most likely be cut off in order to remove us as carefully as possible. The car fought bravely as the fireman were stumped a number of times as how to cut through certain items, when they had the roof off they praised the build quality! Great great car that had been kept in perfect condition up to this point! I had only reached 10,000 miles the day before hand and was 20 months old :( Car can be replaced people can't, although sitting here dosed up on pain killers in this heat is no fun!
  10. Strange, car went in for an A/C service and when I picked it up was making a whirring noise. They told me there was no gas in the system as there automatic machine was not working correctly. But if this was true it certainly would not run as you guys have said above. So now it has been regassed the noise is still there, so what is it! I think its from the climate control system as it stops dead when it is switched off. Any ideas? Cheers!
  11. My car has just had an A/C service, upon picking up from dealer it making a strange noise, it is definently related to the A/C system as it stops when the climate control is switched off. So when the revs are madropping from about 1500-2000 a whirring / grating noise can be heard, it didn't make this noise before! It is a 2010 Petrol Octavia VRs, anyone had this? Very strange but thanks for bearing with me!
  12. As per true title will it damage anything having run the air conditioning system with no gas in it? Cheers
  13. I am on annual servicing and it has been a year since it was last serviced. I don't do many miles a year!
  14. First service was done at 4000 miles when I purchased the car as part of the deal. Do the spark plugs need a change? Or worth changing? I will be getting a Fabia VRs.for the day whilst mine in so should be an interesting comparison!
  15. My 2010 Petrol VRs 10,000 miles is booked in for it's second service on Tuesday. I have it on the £299 upfront service plan so most will already be paid for. But is there anything else that I should all them to change? Filters? Spark plugs? Money no object what would I get replaced? I was thinking fuel and oil filters, A/C service and brake fluid which is included in service. Do Skoda flush the engine between oil being drained and replaced? Anyone have anything else?! Cheers
