  1. I'm missing the power and the noise! Had 307bhp, but it's starting to get a bit long in the tooth, a few niggles here and there, and I don't have the time or space to work on it because of recently moving house. I bought the VRS on Sunday night and was looking at remaps on Monday morning! Well the 225s it has at the moment do give a little stretch. They will look daft if I don't lower it, and if I do that it probably wont be for a while due to house renovations and wedding in the summer. If I do go down that route I might look at rolling or flaring the arches if necessary to fit the wheels.
  2. That's what I thought would be the case. I'll just have to stick them on and see what they are like. I need coilovers before they go on properly, then I'll maybe look at rolling or flaring the arches.
  3. How many people have this width of wheel fitted? I've just bought my Octavia VRS coming from a B5 S4 Avant. I currently have 18x8.5J ET29 A5 wheels on the S4 which I want to put on the VRS. Tyres are 225/40 R18 I know it will be tight, it's tight on the S4 too! anybody got any experience or pictures of anything similar for reference? S4 with said wheels below:
  4. So.... 5 and a half years since I initially joined the forum (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/207402-funny-thing-is-i-havent-quite-got-round-to-buying-a-skoda-yet/), I've finally got myself a tidy MK2 VRS. After opting against a Mk1 VRS back in 2011, I got a Bora TDi 150, before my B5 S4 Avant which I have had for nearly 4 years, soon to be up for sale. The S4 is getting on a bit now, more and more niggles appearing so made the decision that it really needs to go. And partly because wor lass hates it. Finally took the plunge on Sunday night and bought myself a 58 plate Octavia VRS hatch in race blue. I really wanted an estate but this hatch was too much of a bargain to ignore. Must admit I initially was having doubts on the drive back from picking it up, because it just didn't seem to have as much of a sense of occasion to it like the S4 does and only 2/3 of the power. Though having lived with it for a couple of days now on the commute to and from work, it's much more relaxing and comfortable than the S4, also having a Parrot kit fitted which is always useful. I'm sure I'll learn to love it more as time passes. In an ideal world I'd keep both cars but house renovations and impending doom wedding in the summer mean sadly I just can't afford it. Look forward to getting more involved on forum. Cheers Michael
  5. Hello all, after various VAG group stuff the only one I haven't touched on (other than Lambo & Bentley) is Skoda! Worked at a VAG specialist for 8 years before recently moving down to Sheffield to get a proper job with my degree. I'v had a 6n2 Polo Gti, 1M Toledo TDi SE 110, 1M Toledo TDi 150 Sport (Remapped to 190bhp... Type Rs for breakfast...om nom nom....Beast!), B5.5 A4 1.8 20V SE, B5.5 Passat Tdi 130 Highline and now on my first non VAG which I just got as a runabout for the summer until my insurance runs out, a E34 BMW 525i. Looking at an Mk1 Octavia VRS next possibly, although I'm holding back slightly because the rear windscreen got put on my BMW last week, so might wait until I've sorted out a new house first (not the nicest are I live in!). Or I might get the 150 Toledo back (sold it to my cousin last year). We'll see what happens, all depends if he wants to sell it back!
