Columbus - no audio - advice requested
spitzie replied to mickeycomms@hot's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
Same thing for me, currently in the garage being checked. I been told it's a known issue with some units, and mine needs to be replaced next week under warranty, once approved by SUK. -
I found that if you went via car , setup, date and time the daylight saving option was unticked and not selectable while gps was the time source. However if you go menu, setup, date and time then daylight saving was ticked and could be unticked.

Is it a 7 or 13 pin system. Mine is a 13pin Thule setup with using skoda towbar prep and works as it should.

Omg the tailgate boot lid on estate full of water!
spitzie replied to Chunkstar's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Had the same issue. Turned out to be the gasket round the high level brake light. -
Thanks I'll try and remember that adviceSent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

Autoglass will get the replacement screen on the 25th for fitting on the 26th. Fingers crossed the chip doesn't turn into a crack or worse before. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

That's what I have been told, hopefully quicker than my panoramic sunroof

I like the X shades but am really after a 5/6 piece set for the estate. The sonniboy look fine but expensive, guess that optical zoom feature is where the cost comes in Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

I got a stone chip yesterday, which can't be repaired. Autoglass don't have a replacement, so it needs to be ordered about 1 week Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

Thanks Rice, guess it's back to the dealer Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

vRS No Options v Elegance With Options
spitzie replied to Falkster's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I've had the Elegance for 6 months now after having a mkII vRS. Because of delays in the delivery I had the chance to change to a vRS, but didn't do to the extra cost to spec up a vRS to the same level as an already spec'ed up Elegance. Sometimes I have those I wish moments but usually about electric boot and not a vRS, put it down to age and that my current car has nearly the same performance as my old. Show your Octavia III Dashcam setups

As a quick and easy option I use the autoboy blackbox for my smartphone. It's free for the basic version. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk -
On a long journey this evening from Southampton to Lincoln my radio just stop playing about Newbury. I thought it was just a loss of DAB signal but I couldn't select radio 2 or FM or any other media input. I turned the radio off and on but no change. Turned off the engine, again no change. Anybody got a suggestions. Sorry if I'm posting this again or in the wrong section but I couldn't find the answer via a search

So my 4 month old Octavia is going into the garage for a third time. The is water getting into the tailgate. It's had 2 visits already which resulted in the seal round the high level brake light being replaced. But it has had no effect, so it back in again next week. Water is not getting into the boot compartment, so I think the boot seal is fine. But it drips out along the plastic trim on the tail gate when the boot is opened. I suspect the the rear window isn't bonded correctly at the top. Has anybody else had a similar issue?

Adding a tow bar to an already built car?
spitzie replied to Lamboluke's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I just had a Thule swan neck detachable towbar with 13 pin electrics fitted by Indespension (other fitters are available). It cost just over £500 (a Westfalia would have been over 600 and Witter over 700). I'll post some pictures when I am back at my pc. -
Just need to know where thw cables from the battery relay appear at thw rear. I guest it would be at the passenger rear light cluster, but just what to check

Alfa 4c?

Could somebody who has had the towbar prep done, please tell me where the ends of the factory fitted cables are. Just so I don't have to remove too much trim hunting for them.

I have used an Samsung S4 and a rooted S3 without any issues
