Just ordered our 4th Skoda off of Letchworth and needless to say they were fantastic as usual. The best dealer I have been to, the general attitude of all the sales staff is excellent and you never feel like you're being a burden which seems to so often be the case in car dealers nowadays.

Actually I made the original post, asking what other people thought but not at all having a go at anyone else?. Throughout your post you almost seemed to wind yourself up about it (considering the finishing comment) so you were the one who got offended, not me.

In a lot of cases a diesel engine can feel quicker than a petrol equivalent because of the torque and the way it develops it's power. You mentioning that it's both quieter and smoother is part of the issue, the 1.2 TSI is so quiet (can be good and bad) that it doesn't feel as quick as it is. Have you driven the 105 TDI lump because although it does sound rather rough it feels like it pulls much harder than the TSI. You don't need to get so aggressive and childish with the "enjoy your smoker when it comes, I'm sure you'll like the noise and the extra vibrations" comment because you're right. Everyone does have their own preferences.

Who isn't very fond of the 1.2 TSI? I get that it's lovely and smooth and economical but for me it's too quiet and doesn't feel as quick as the TDI and for that reason I have ordered the diesel. What does everyone else think?

Just ordered my 1.4 diesel! Only a couple of extras but I'm still super excited. Anyone have a rough idea of how long it should take?

Emissions scandal doesn't affect this engine? Also I didn't ask for an opinion or whether i should or shouldn't do it. Lots of people remap their cars whilst still in warranty. Thanks for the tuning box suggestion.It's odd that a tuning box company I saw listed the Polo 1.4 tdi 105 but not the Fabia, maybe they don't yet recognise it as a model? Strange.

i've read things about the new 1.4 tdi not being able to be remapped, does anyone know if this is true?

apart from having no power, is there any disadvantages to not having the belt on the alternator, will it mess things up? Thanks a lot by the way.

if i start the car and drive it without the belt on the alternator am i going to cause damage to the engine? This is only driving it about 5 miles to a mechanic near me. The belt i can see but it has fallen off

No the noise was before the belt fell off. The belt fell off and now it won't charge the battery. Do you know why a belt would fall off?

when the belt was off and it started again, i don't think the alternator was spinning

interesting because the belt on the alternator came off today

I have experienced now twice a loud gravel type noise (the sort when you drive over a loose ish surface and it hits the car) and the noise gets louder as you rev the engine. It goes away within about a minute but is really quite worrying. Anyone know what it could be?

Apparently the Fuel pump was changed to a VW unit by the previous owner, could this be causing this?

As per the title, when the tank is full it reads empty and when it's empty it reads full. Any idea what could be going wrong as this isn't ideal

Hi guys, not that new to the forum but new to this part. As well as Having my Citigo i have just purchased this Fabia VRS! Always been a dream car for me and at 17 I can fulfil that dream Bodywork is good with no rust but she has a few issues though: The turbo has apparently reached the end of it's use. It is making a loud whistling noise and needs to be replaced as soon as possible! One of the rear windows doesn't wind anymore (fixed) and inside door handle doesn't work on offside rear door The seats could do with a clean. The Air con doesn't work, I'm not sure why though. When the air con is turned on the revs of the car don't change at all, so could be compressor fault? Not that knowledgeable on these things The fuel gauge reads backwards. Works perfectly but When the tank is full, it says empty, when it's empty it reads full! I The boot has to be pushed down in order for it to open for some reason, again don't know why that is. Rear window has white stuff underneath the glass. Here she is!
