  1. Ok so latest to happen is that the fuel gauge never goes down, at most it goes down to 3/4 and filling up is another nightmare as it always clicks off at the pump so takes an age to fill as i have to trickle the fuel in.........anyone else had this ??? bah!
  2. oooh Havent done a ventectomy no but may have pressed the button by accident......132miles gone and the gauge is slowly coming off the full mark...how do i reset this then?!?! stupid bloody car!
  3. Where is this located mate? and is it something i could easily do myself? thanks for the reply!
  4. HI all, After a few issues with my girlfriends 1.4mpi we now have a new one which involves the fuekl gauge staying at maximum. When you turn the ignition off the gauge goes to zero so i'm guessing it's a sensor problem? has anyone had this issue and if so whats the cost etc? Cheers
  5. Changed the Housing today and found the problem to be the thermostat! so all is good again, thanks for all the help guys.
  6. I had exactly the same issue and when looking at the first point it could pop off at (engine bay) i saw that the pipe had split behind the ABS unit.
  7. I bought my girlfriend the bosch ones and they work great except the drivers one doesnt quite make contact the windscreen at the top of the screen but its no big deal and doesnt affect anything!
  8. Ahh bugger, well im going down there tomorrow to have words and to get it plugged in to see if they can find anything out on diagnostics, is it easy to bleed a system? i've read a few different ways and am thinking of just buying a haynes manual, i want to do it right as i dont want my girlfriend stranded! thanks for input though its all helping!
  9. They did a coolant temperature check, yeah i spoke to my girlfriend this morning and all the way to work the temp gauge was going up and down...think i should flush the system to get rid of the airlock?
  10. thanks! a bit of an update..i thought i'd have a nose round the engine bay and found that skoda forgot to put the cap back on the coolant!!!great huh! but since i have now put it back on the temp is fluctuating from midway to a quarter so im guessing i still have a problem?! Does driving the car with the cap off cause any sort of problems? i have only driven it for about 30 mins since i got the car fixed but is that enough to casue any issues?
  11. I'm guessing i need part number 047121111S does this come with the thermostat included?
  12. Hi all, So just got the console bushes sorted and then on the way home i noticed the temp gauge not moving off the bottom and then realised even with the heater on max it wasnt getting very hot so im thinking this is a thermostat issue or the sensor or both?! im guessing i can do this myself or do you all think it could be some other problem?! cheers
  13. Hi all, My girlfriend has a mk1 fabia and is looking for a decent mp3 headunit to replace the crap original tape player, now i know i can go look at reviews and choose one by myself but im guessing a few of you if not all have replaced the old unit so was looking for some ideas and opinions.
