  1. That description could conceivably apply to my potential driving situation being at the top of a steep hill am i too assume a 1.2 TSI turbo could suffer premature failure ?
  2. Thanks , in the brochure it mentions the door panels come in four different colour designs but it doesn't say what they are or i just can't find it in the brochure
  3. Thanks , have been to my local Skoda dealer but they are a combined Audi, Volkswagen,Skoda franchise and only had one Yeti too look at top of the range Experience out of my league , the one i will most likely go for will be the Ambition in white similar i think to the SE trim in the UK , i wanted to see the difference between the white trim and the Grey/silver Thanks for the tips Plumbers looks like the trim i would go for , is that a white fascia round the dash ?
  4. Does anybody have a link to some decent interior photos that give you an idea of the colour choices for the trim round the dash and doors ? Cheers
  5. Thanks Expatman you make good points, i may not be in a position to buy a new car again so you'll appreciate my thought process as far as the engine longevity
  6. I don't know about the UK but I'm looking at a Polo brochure from my local dealer and it says '105 CV (77 KW ) TSI'
  7. Thanks 'The Plumber' i didn't realise i'ts a different engine just assumed i'ts the same, looked at Honest Johns video review of the Polo and he says something like "this 1.2 Tsi can be found in the Yeti and a few other cars", did notice on the Whatcar compare tool that the yeti 1.2 is 8v and the polo is 16v not being in anyway a technical person regarding cars Yes Barts i do live in Frigiliana so you will appreciate the hike up and down it's got to do
  8. Thanks for all your advice , i was hoping the technical experts would be able to throw some light on how the extra weight over a longterm would impact on the engine given it's the same 1.2 TSI ? don't get me wrong i love the look of the Yeti inside and out
  9. My heart is saying Yeti for the reasons you say fun, individuality but my head is saying this car has got to last me upwards of 5+ years and that extra weight
  10. I had 100 percent decided to buy a Polo 1.2 TSI this coming June , then today a Yeti parked up alongside me and knocked my thinking right off , to keep it simple can't justify a diesel don't do enough miles, most of the year it's only me and the wife going from home to supermarket now and again runs up the coast , thing is we live up the side of a mountain and when i compared the weight of the Yeti to the Polo if I'm reading it right from whatcar there is 257 kg difference and I'm thinking same engine pulling that extra weight week in week out, Polo makes more sense ?
  11. That gives me a clue to the longevity of a petrol engine Big Rich thanks . I feel I'm nit picking but i might not have this kind of money to spend on a new car again
  12. Thanks for all your generous advice , i suppose the one question i was hoping for can't be answered IE life span of the engine as i expect to keep it for no less than 6 yrs at 5,000 miles 30,000 miles doesn't seem a lot and if i can manage to keep it scratch and dint free which is nearly impossible in Spain i would be a very happy bunny
  13. Thanks for quick and informative response, only ever driven manual so it will most likely be manual , glad to here no problems with the TSI engine , you know what it's like when your going spend £16,000 / £17,000 you try to cover all the bases and with this 1.2 TSI engine a unknown quantity for me i just wanted some reassurance it will give me long term IE 6 yrs + worry free driving i know theres no guarantees in life but didn't want to find that the turbo side of things is a concern in 3 or 4 yrs time and would be expensive to correct
  14. What is the general opinion of owning a Yeti with the 1.2 TSI engine ?, i currently own a Focus Estate 1.8 TDI but now i am retired i can't justify a diesel ,i haven't bought a brand new car for 30 yrs and intend to keep my next purchase for as long as possible at least 6 years , i am averaging 5,000 miles a year so does the 1.2 TSI Yeti make good sense for longterm ownership ?
  15. Hi i live in the Malaga area , could you tell me if you obtained a good deal on your Yeti 1.2 ? i am thinking of the manual version
