  1. Dam, I'm after one of these. Even looked last night but didn't see anything :(
  2. All valid points. But it doesn't change the times I accurately recorded, wouldn't dream of doing these tests unless the car was suitably warmed up either, with a decent clear, flat road surface ahead. I would say the torque app is questionable, as it's not specifically designed to be used for the above. There are so many variables, I would just accept two similar cars have posted two similar times.
  3. Also if remapping, would there be benefit in upgrading the engine oil to something that may run a boot cooler (Not sure if this is possible?)
  4. I spoke to Rainworth Skoda this morning about a Revo remap. They wanted £469, being a dealer that should be negotiable though. What has everyone else paid for the remap? For comparison to the stats above, my car is completely standard: 0-60 mph 7.3 seconds 50-70 mph 4.5 seconds In sport mode, tyres just inflated, TC on, fair dry surface. I would be curious to learn the 0-100 mph of a stage 1 car. Mine is doing it in the 18's
  5. So I've finaly watched supersize me, all it's made me think is hell I really really want a Macc d's. Just need to locate a drive thru...

  6. Would be curious to learn how you get on Wilko, let us know.
  7. Free restaurant food for two weeks, the catch: Eating on your own...

  8. Looks like a nice day to wash the green machine...

No misfiring since cable replaced. 2) Ad Lav - 2011 vRS Estate 4000 miles - Headlight adjuster fault, still not fixed. Misaligned rear stone chip foils. Garage been A1 though 3) wilko251088 - dsg issues 1000miles gear 6 is shafted 4) HBFS - Currently on 33,000 miles Creaking from the rear when cold, high oil consumption fixed 10k miles ago, now in the garage due to misfiring.
  10. I must have one of the highest mileage vRS's @ 33,000 miles? Creaky rear suspension, always disappears once warm. High oil consumption - resolved 10k miles ago. Now it's in the garage due to misfiring. Not a fault per say but it can be a bit creaky at times. It's the wrong car for me, as I do a lot of motorway miles. But anything else brisk is about twice the £ to insure than the Fabia. So I'm stuck!
  11. Stupidly I didn't think to look at /ton figures - an interesting set and strange that the lowly Fabia has the highest score. I guess a decent remap would see the TDI beat the aforementioned standard cars. Any Briskodians claiming their Octavia TDI's make 200BHP standard like I've seen elsewhere?
  12. Ok, so am I correct to assume yours is the Octy? And out of curiosity, which would you say is quicker after 60 mph?
  13. I hope people don't think I'm a bit too keen with this being my second topic of the day as a newbie, but... What can people tell me about the performance difference between mk2 Fabia vRS VS latest Octavias - TDI and TSI? I'm only interested in standard performance really. I'm just curious as I currently have the Fabia vRS and love the punchiness of the engine and that you can overtake so easily in it, I'm currently set to buy the Octy Diesel but worried I'll miss the punchiness of the petrol. I've read a few times in various places (Though not here) that performance between the the TDI octy matches its petrol counterpart, is this true?
