  1. Hi sorry for the late reply! sadly it was not cured, Skoda have tried everything possible to fix it shy of removing the wiring loom or checking every single earth in the car. I have chosen to remove the interior alarm fuse, the alarm has not sounded for over 6 months now, not a fix, but it gives me, my neighbours and the police a break!
  2. Small update I popped in the dealer today, my car was sat there with half the dash stripped apart. Apparently the can is providing a live 12v feed somehow ? Where it should be providing a signal and not a live 12v feed ? They have tried to "hot wire" the instrument panel but that didn't work. Apparently the tech will have someone in milton keynes ? Im guessing that is a main technical centre ? Log in to the computer that is attached to the car to try and figure out how to fix it remotely. The guys said they cannot communicate with the can at all as no signal is being sent / received so i dont know how someone can solve the issue or from a remote location. Seems like a complicated issue, and judging from the lack of replies on here a rare one too.
  3. Hi I need some advice, following on from my previous alarm issue posted here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/285527-alarm-going-off-at-random-times-of-the-night/ The alarm ECU was changed on the 30th Sept, the car was trouble free for four days before the alarm started triggering again, i removed the 5amp intruder alarm fuse at 2am because it was going off constantly, i basically had no choice but to shut it up. In the morning (saturday) i put the fuse back in, put the key in and nothing, not even a mileage reading with the door open, i checked all of the fuses in the car, and then the fuses in the engine bay, all were fine. The battery is reading over 12v, nothing is working at all, no exterior or interior lights, no fans working no dash lights at all, no mileage, no clicking sounds when the key is used in the ignition, its like its got a completely dead battery. The doors lock and unlock as normal, you hear a chirp when you lock etc, the alarm is still setting it self off lol The RAC came out via Skoda roadside assistance, they couldn't get there diag machine to communicate with the car as the ecu was off completely. They towed my car to the local Skoda garage, which is the one who have always looked after the car, and it still sat there now. The Skoda tech seemed to believe it may be a relay issue, but today they have had to send off a report to Skoda Technical as the relays are fine, and they can not find an obvious reason for the power issue. I know its under warranty etc, but do you guys / gals have any ideas whats going on ? This car has given me such a headache over the last few years, mechanically the best car I've had, electrically the worst !
  4. Small update: Skoda did eventually get back to the garage and they have agreed for my alarm ECU to be changed. Its being done on the 30th Sept, and hopefully this will sort the issue. The skoda tech described the fault as "spontaneous alarm activation, triggered by the ECU via the internal sensors". Will update once the ecu has been changed, just in case anyone else has this issue.
  5. Guess what ? its back in Skoda again for the same fault, it was good for around a week and then..... in the middle of the day this time lol it just randomly started going off lol. due to me not being able to stop it going off, as soon as i locked the door it would trigger lol so i pulled the fuse out again, problem solved ! its driving me insane !! the Skoda tech has been in conversation with someone at Skoda technical to try and get authorisation to replace the alarm ECU as he still believes that is where the fault is coming from, unfortunatly without permission from Skoda they cannot change it as "it wont be paid for under warranty". nightmare !
  6. Well it went in today, a faulty ultrasonic sensor and the alarm sensitivity was set to 100. Sensor changed and the sensitivity has been reduced to 70. hopefully that's the end of it lol
  7. the car is in warranty still so ill let the Skoda tech look at it again for the 3rd time, to see if they can sort it third time lucky and all that jazz..... Hopefully with the fuse out it will not go off tonight ? I would imagine when it goes in on wednesday next week it will not get fixed on the day, as the dealership i use doesnt seem to carry any parts what so ever. whats my next course of action if they fail for a third time to sort it ?
  8. Hi For the last two months on and off i have been having alarm issues, these started with the pip noise not being there anymore when you lock and unlock the car. The siren also was non functional, it went into my local dealer, who diagnosed and said the siren was at fault and i needed a new one. New one fitted, still no pip when locking, still no alarm. I was told at that stage that they could not clear the permanent fault, and could not find the fault reason that day. Got the car home, booked it back in and low and behold the next day the pip is back, alarm working, and everything was fine.. Now from that date i have had on and off with the locking pips, the alarm could be good as good for a week, then at some god forsaken time of the morning start going off with no apparent cause. I can press the alarm thing on door pilar, it makes no difference it still goes off. Its all booked back in to be looked at again, the dealer seemed to believe it may be the alarm ecu ? The small red light on the door card is non functional either, even with the car locked it doesn't flash at all, and it used to. I live in a small cul de sac, my alarm going off is really starting to **** my neighbours off, the local police are not best impressed after now being called out to attend five times in the last two weeks. My question i have removed the 5amp fuse which is marked as the intruder alarm, will this disable the siren until it goes in to Skoda next week ? If not is there anther way of temporally disabling the alarm siren ?
  9. The sterio is a Chinese all in one by Erisin the model is 1089s the cam is a sony ccd number plate cam. The erisin unit is pretty good, the first one had to go back as it developed a fault after a day lol This ones been in and trouble free for a few months. I havnt tried re wiring the cam again yet, ill do It over the weekend.
  10. hmm, following on from my post above i have ran into problems again. it appears the way i have wired this in it is permanently powered up, even when the ignition is off. this is causing battery drain, and through the night my alarm is going off. i have been into my local dealer who recommended i wired it into the reversing lights, which as i have posted above doesn't seem to work. the skoda tech said there is a reverse cable that comes in near the foot well, and that is where it should be wired in... does that sound right ?
  11. Got a couple of free tickets through today for thursday thanks Skoda
