  1. I have a 2005 Skoda Fabia 6Y2 VRs. Yesterday I had to swerve violently, although by a small degree, to avoid a car coming the other way on the wrong side of the road. I didn't hit any potholes or objects, but the steering immediately felt wrong. - I thought I had a puncture, but I didn't. It seemed better after I had checked the wheel and set off again, but something happened. Does anyone know what caused this?
  2. My trusty VRs took me from home via Gloucestershire to Atia, Hargita, Romania in one go with stops only for tunnel, one border control and fuel. 24 hours' driving between two of us, nearly 1,600 miles plus the same home over three days week later.
  3. Thanks everyone. I have the right part now ordered.
  4. The outer boot is starting to split and I checked the J&R webiste which lists only one for the VRs but with different engine codes to my 2005 ASZ. I called and they couldn't tell me if it would fit. I would guess they are all the same. Did the shaft diameter or any other things change during the production run?
  5. I am trying to buy a kit from Amazon but there are several different part numbers all saying they fit my car. 37069. 37077, 37078, 37079 and 37089. There seems no way to contact the sellers to ask. Does anyone know?
  6. Thanks for that info. I have just this morning bought a set of four good looking factory alloys on ebay, including two good tyres, for £115 and today I am collecting four almost new Pirelli 195/50R16 winter tyres bought on Gumtree for £100. I can fit them myself so hopefully all sorted!
  7. I am looking for a set of four standard 16" alloys as a second set for winter tyres. If someone has some with winter tyres already fitted that would be even better. I am located in west Oxfordshire but travel a little with, mostly to Bucks, Northants and Warwickshire.
