Blimey, 7k for an 06 fabia? Mines also 06 in silver, standard with no leather but i paid £6000 for it almost 3 years ago from a skoda dealer with skoda warranty.
-
I asked my skoda this when my car was being repaired after an accident ( was running on the spare for about 2 months while the insurance got its act together) they said the spare is used in other models and therefore they all have the sticker on incase the other model doesnt have the same size other wheels. In the case of the vrs the steel is the same size and therefore has no reason to be restricted. Not sure a policeman would agree though should you get pulled at 70, but thats what i was told anyway.

Wont go into details as typing on the phone, but you need to keep em on the ball. I was in an minor accident a few year ago which was in no way my fault, both my and the other partts statements gave the same story and yet my insurance still sent me a letter advising me to accept 50/50. Was fuming and sent a letter pointing out that i was in no way at fauly along with google streetview images showing road layout and eventually got the claim awarded in my favour. This took 9 months, was very minor and no injury claims. Had 2 other non fault deaings and those have similar stories. I found you need to chase and pester them weekly to keep things moving, shocking really.

Thisday - Thanks for adding me back on!!

Mine was fine until this summer, I think the sun caused it, but the speed in which it developed surprised me! Two large seperate patches appeared within a week of each other :-(

Fabia MK1 Front Fogs - question about switch
hyte1 replied to mydan's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Cant say for the fabia (therefore probably useless post!!) but i had a mk3 golf cabriolet and added frong fogs, just bought the lamps, and the replacement switch, all wiring was already in the car. -
My best ever is 55mpg, average overall of 50-51mpg. All calculated with Fuelly using full tanks. I get 550-600 mile a tank using the expansion space. My dash tells me between 60 and 70mpg. I only use the vrs for work, 30 mile trip on A roads each way.

front drivers side bleed nipple snapped off
hyte1 replied to Joe41's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Think the computer thing is referring to when you get air in the abs unit, i 'think' you need vcds to rectify this if it happens as you need to activate the abs while the bleed is carried out. Thats my understanding anyway, but im no expert! -
FABIA VRS SE 07 Windscreen replacement
hyte1 replied to national's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Defo check with them, ive seen posts on here before where the screen has been replaced with the sunguard missing. I wouldnt like to lose mine! -
Calculated on Fuelly for over a year, average 50.05mpg on my work run, 30 mile each way on a roads. Best ever is 55mpg. Dont rely on the cars reading as mine averages 63mpg on my work run, and ive had it as high as 93 over that 30 mile trip.

Rear brake discs and pads change for Fabia
hyte1 replied to naga's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Not sure on the wear sensors, My 06 vrs doesnt have them. Got discs and pads from eurocarparts ebay outlet for £36.80 delivered next day, same parts as you have linked to. -
Had mine out recently to install a connects2, when i plugged it back in it said 'safe'. Put key in ignition and it unlocked the radio, yours should do the same, as said above i think its stored in the ecu.

mine squeaks slightly when fully wound up from the vibration of the car! if i push on it, it stops! im guessing a new seal would sort it.

This one's my brother's, mine was parked right behind it. Glad you didnt take a pic tho as it was pretty mucky! Hadn't been cleaned for a few weeks now :-) http://www.briskoda....169-fabia-3jpg/ I can vouch for my bro tho, this was spotless when we set off this morning but a 40 mile trip over the moors didn't do the shine any good! The Mustang, such a shame but it looks like the driver didn't anticipate the power delivery. Anyway, heres an interesting look inside the door skin. -
VRS Tdi or similar for 18K annual commute?
hyte1 replied to BYF's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
i do about 15k a year in mine, 33 mile each way to work and wouldnt swap it for anything else. had it 18 months and it makes me smile every time i drive it, cheap to run, proved reliable, cheaper tax than my previous car (1.9tdi polo) cheap insurance and decent of power. -
oh how i miss my 1995 golf cabriolet in red amost the same as that. not fast at all but lots of fun going topless! sadly kids came along and it had to go.
