Need help , stage 2 , and mot
Randy 675 replied to Randy 675's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
That's exactly what I'm thinking bowders ! Or even use the original cat welded into a link pipe , that's interchangeable , just got to decided on what I should be running system wise after the cat -
Need help , stage 2 , and mot
Randy 675 replied to Randy 675's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
So far it all seems very taboo , someone I know got a mot and his car was so low they couldn't get it on the ramp and he still got a mot , asked about my car and he said no chance emmisions is a risky business ! I really don't want to be re fitting my original down pipe !! -
Right my mot is due And I've had the car stage 2 mapped which involved a de cat , now I'm looking for a new exhaust and thinking sports cat to stop all this faffing around around mot time , would a 200cell car be fine to run on a stage 2 map ? . As I've started looking into getting a custom exhaust made up ? . As well as other options as in cut original cat out of down pipe and have it on 2 flanges so you have a interchangeable pipe ( de/cat(straight pipe) then cat ) Just tryin to price my options up ATM Any info will be truly helpful as always guys Regards randy

Any one done this mod ? Cars going stage 2 very soon , do was reading into this .. Hotter spark better reliability can enlarge plug gap , is it worth it ? Or just bull ? It's either do this conversion , or buy 4 brand new std coils packs for it will prob get the red ones from awesome performance

Really feeling the need for going stage 2 only thing holding me back is the exhaust set up ; eg downpipe and cat Ive got a non resonated center section to go on going to the standard back box for now . Also it's either de cat with and eBay special / something like this : Look at this on eBay: SKODA OCTAVIA 2001-2003 1.8T 20v 180BHP DECAT DE CAT PIPE EXHAUST http://bit.ly/OJUgRv Or I've found jetex do the same thing with a highflow sports cat , Look at this on eBay: Skoda Octavia 1 1U Saloon 1.8T RS S/S Jetex D.pipe/Hi Flow Cat 41T10R200 02-04 http://bit.ly/Pd9DSF Really don't want hassle around MOT's With changing it all back for std set up Or it's buy the eBay job and find a local welder to weld the flange from de cat link pipe to it as you can pick up cheaper bolt in / weld in hight glow cats for very little money . Regard Sean

Fitted a lot of silicone today
Randy 675 replied to Randy 675's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
No real difference noticed yet but the cars not mapped , although I would say throttle response is better and you can keep giving it the beans with no real heat soak issues -

Running an eBay special FMIC Seems to do its work and for the price can't complain, takes a whole longer to route the pipes but I got it on in a day . Looking at buying an intake temp gauge too see what level it's keeping the temps down too ATM . -
The bay is getting there slowly fitted intake pipe today and cold side dv relocation , and down I can hardly hear it dump running a forge 008 I'm still on standard map ATM only 10 psi , when the valve was in standard position it have a lovely dump sound through the filter now it's hardly noticeable , is it purely because of the length if pipe it has to travel through now and will it come back once itsvre mapped at boost is up at 18psi ??
-
I've got the clip o now but it just seems like the pipe is far to tight like there's a lot of places it could rub etc are they just generally this tighter fit ?
-
Right currently fitting my sillicone pipe and it's a really tight fit and rubbing/ sittin on a solid metal pipe , and how the hell do you get a jubilee or something on the turbo end ???

So with my mods ? A 3 " down pipe would make me ready for a stage 2 map ??
