  1. Morning all, I have a silver 2014 Yeti Adventure 4×4. I have picked up a couple of stone chips, one on the roof and the rest on the bonnet. Does anyone know the colour and codes of the paint so i can order the touch up sets please? The roof is black in contrast to the silver body hence me struggling to find the info from anywhere else. Thank you, Dave
  2. I have the same problem and bought a solid non folding caravan step from Go Outdoors. It was about £7 and still is. It is small enough to fit on the boot and then to pack around, I tried a couple of folding steps and couldn't get one sturdy enough! Worth a go for £7! 3. Just to add on the battery hypothesis. The steering module will record a fault I'd the voltage drops below a certain limit. Mine wasn't that bad, but on start up the battery was OK to turn the engine but not good enough to power the steerinh system until the alternator powered in. Heavy steering was obvious, just like there was no assistance for a second or two. Once you blipped the throttle to energise the alternator the assistance came back. New battery solved the problem. Just a thought, always best to start with the simplest thing to test and work from there David
  4. I had a similar issue of heavy steering when I started my old yeti for the first time most days. A new battery cured this issue. Get someone to test the battery and take it from there. Diagnostics didnt show any fault codes either. David
  5. If all else fails you should also check that the clutch pedal switch is operating correctly (using VCDS/VAG-COM). On my Audi A2 the cruise stopped working and that proved to be the problem. David
  6. Interesting John H, I was told by the dealer (when demoing this car and other VW group cars infact) to let the car finish doing its checks before starting. Only a couple of seconds mind and on my Audi A2 the dash board displays "OK" to tell you everything if fine to start the car!! I haven't got cheap access to VCDS to check, so I am unlikely to ever get to the bottom of it. There is certainly nothing wrong with the ESP since it was serviced last month (at Derek Slack Skoda in M'boro) and there was nothing to report. A couple of seconds wait isn't very much in the grand scheme of things. Thanks, David
  7. Yep, I have had the same thing, including the ESP fault message which goes if you switch off and start again and isn't recorded as a fault code. I wondered whether it was due to me turning the key very quickly without letting the car go through its set of system checks? So before the lights go off on the dash board (insert key and turn straight to "start", with no hold at position 1) I haven't had time to check it out and try to repeat the "ping". David
  8. Mine is a 2009 Columbus and you have to toggle Night and day manually - maybe linked to firmware version?? Not too botther, since I drive with my lights on most of the time anyway - it is grim up north you know!

    Oh deer!

Hi there, I hit a badger is my other car a couple of years back. Only damaged the front fog light and lower grill, but once they removed the bumper it was collapsed underneath and needed to be replaced, along with the air con radiator. Insurance settled that one, but the bill was £900!!!! It was an Audi A2, but the car was drivable and didn't look that bad! Best get it checked out, that is what insurance is for after all. Thankfully you and your passengers are OK, that's the main thing. All the best, David
  10. Hi there, I bought the skoda bars last week. My dealer (Derek Slack in mboro) gives a 10% discount if you bought the car from him, so I got them for £149. Not bad and as previously posted once the little bolts are attached the fitting is very easy. David
  11. Hi, If like me your SM SE doesn't have the overhead front sunglasses holder, then the part number you require to "upgrade" is 1K0 868 837 GY 20 I just bought one from the dealer for £17.76 and fitted it in less than 5 mins (using a flat knife, carefully pry from the edge nearest the back seat just off centre - you can see how the clips fit from the the new part!). This may not be the exact Yeti part number, but it fits perfect and is the right colour if yours is creamy / off white (sorry don't know the exact shade), it is a common part in a Golf /Passat/Tiguan etc. Hope that helps everyone, and it is cheaper to buy from the dealer than on ebay or other e-retailers! Thanks, David
  12. Hi there, Just had the same problem and had the boot catch replaced under warranty. Had to wait 4 weeks for the part as it was on back order! Fitted last week and since no issues. David
