Looks like DMF as i suspected, anybody know the going rate for this (clutch + dmf)

Suspect my clutch/DMF is starting to go. Symptems are:- Car in neutral ticking over no noise, start to press clutch pedal and rattling noise appears, Push pedal to the floor and rattling stops, Not getting any vibration through clutch pedal. Also struggle to engage reverse gear sometimes. 2010 1.6 tdi 5 speed 95000 miles. Has anyone had similar syptoms?

Finally got round to checking controller connectors, all seem fine no sign of water/damp anywhere. Found another problem. If the headlights are on and I turn ignition off they change to sidelights as normal but when I take the key out of ignition sidelights remain on usually all would go off. Could it be the ignition switch

Had mine in to the stealers today due to this noise. Diagnosed compressor fault and replaced the compressor under warranty. This is a £700+ fix if out of warranty.

The noise on mine sounds very similar to the noise my washing machine makes when the pump has pumped all the water out and is still pumping (dry) before the spin. Might be the A/C gas is getting low.

Had my condensor replaced and re-gased due to leak. All done under warranty. If a 3 year old car needs re-gasing it will probably have a leak somewhere

Lift the carpet up over the spare wheel and mine is on the left

Recently replaced mine on 2010 1.6CR and they were 253mm X 10mm. The code on my label in the boot is PR-1KD

Bought my car with 13,000 miles and 11 month old and it has made the noise since i bought it. Now on 50,000 and not got any worse. I think it comes from behind the dash because i cant hear it from under the bonnet. Let me know how you get on with the WD40.

Does the noise stop when you switch A/C on. I have the same sound which goes when A/C is switched on

I always used ADL Blueprint when i had Toyota`s, hardly any brake dust. I think they now make them for Vag group cars. Have a look on Ebay
