  1. thanks gents oh and sorry for the late response but I've been enjoying the sunshine up in your part of the world, well France to be specific ... sadly back in cold and wet Oz now Rob the mount is a little harsher but generally not that noticable (except for the added grip!), however when reverse is used, which is thankfully not that often, it is definitely noticable. Personally I prefer the new, more solid/harsher feel to the old. latest modification .. these were removed the other day: and replaced with something a little more shiny
  2. little update, got my great value ECS Stage 3 BBK installed the other week, along with an ECS torque mount insert (lots of grip for little money). The refinished audi rims were put on at the same time, and yesterday I finally got around to taking a good SLR photo of them. This is probably my first attempt at shooting the Octy on sloping ground, and as you can see finding the right spot for a photo is well worth the effort
  3. Dave having a couple of my own I'm so sorry to hear your unimaginable news mate - hope your family is holding up as best they can, and also hope the Octy distraction is helping you at least a little. I'm very keen to hear your thoughts on TSI+K04 ... but in time. Topic followed with interest.
  4. yup, 18x9 et45 with 3mm spacers to clear the strut. I'll probably stay with my current 235/40's. With the current setup (18x8 et50) there's still a bit of outside edge room to play with on the fronts. oh and here's a recent pic from our VW Nationals show in Sydney:
  5. haha adamweal .. the FL's TSI gets my vote Laars, the tail light look is just some smoked vinyl. hey Rob and muckipup, don't worry the flat fives will simply be my secondary "wheel-whore" wheels. The 8.2kg Rays VR beauties will stay on for > 50% of the time, and will be a must for the track. In fact I've just placed an order through to Japan for a wider set @ 18x9 et45 :D
  6. yeah it's like comparing a library to a surf beach ... (intake was done post-tune btw) I have the larger of the two available ITG cannister sizes, and although I've heard a lot of Golf GTI and Golf R intakes I haven't yet come across any that are louder than this ITG
  7. time for some new wheels ... all 4 should be ready for action in a week or two
  8. it might fit the same, but according to revo that's where the similarities end. also, there is nothing listed here: http://www.millteksport.com/exhaust.products.cfm?variantid=319
  9. Hi All, I've been waiting for what seems an eternity for Milltek to redevelop their TBE for FL Octavia vRS. Does anyone here know what stage Milltek R&D are at with it? I doubt they'd tell me directly ... so thought I'd ask you locals Cheers, Todd.
  10. ^^^^ yummy! ... here's mine from this morning: more pics @ http://www.facebook....hagwagon/photos .
  11. so I decided to put the car on the dyno last week .. happy with the results. and shortly after I had this monster installed
  12. few aesthetic changes while I'm waiting for an ECS brake kit to come in and having dark thoughts about 18x9.5 wheels ..
  13. SileX I don't know what exhaust that GTI in the clip has, but it's not the stock GTI exhaust. btw mine farts louder than that, hehe I've got some goodies about to be installed soon, but for now here's a few pics from a quick photoshoot today .. http://www.flickr.com/photos/77408883@N02/6794648938/in/photostream/lightbox/
  14. utterly stunning ... wow! This car is perfection one question - how much did it rub with these wheels and at that height??
  15. thanks SileX, it's hard to get useful acceleration video, but here's a little taste: nah I didn't do any wrapping, had it all done at a local car wrap company .. I suspect it's not that hard though, I just don't have the patience
