  1. Hi, I currently have a Shark Remap on my 2.0 170 TDi which is working fine for me. I made an enquiry with Skoda Uk where I stand as the fix will wipe the remap. I was told by the Skoda that the recall was purely optional, they would not reimburse any costs due to having the remap done again or travelling to have it fixed. The person I spoke to said that the there was no real need to have the fix done, as all the fix would do would be to fix the testing mode, the nox levels during real life driving would remain the same as they are currently. If they are just fixing the test mode then why go to all the effort etc, I think this is incorrect. Has anyone else had a conversation with Skoda about this? Thanks
  2. Hi I used to have a Samsung S2 which connected withing a few seconds of turning on the engine. I have now got a Samsung S4 after starting the engine I get a message on the phone saying remote SIM activated within a few seconds but then takes 3 minutes or so to actually connect the phone. On the display it sometimes says searching for phone. Has anyone else had this problem or do yours connect quickly? I am thinking of a factory reset on the phone but that's a bit of a pain if its not going to change anything.
  3. It was not when brand new but unfortunately I don't know when it did go black
  4. I was just about to start my own thread but found this. I had my first variable service as 12,000 mile on my 2.0 tdi. Drove home yesterday (12 miles) checked oil today and its black (not sludgy). Was going to phone dealer tomorrow but looks like this is normal.
  5. Hi Thanks for the advice, its definately past the laquer. I can still see black but its one of the under layers
  6. Hi, I would like some advice on repairing a scratch in my 14 month old Superb. At the top of the door, just below the window are a number of light gouge marks going most of the length of the door. They are not down to the metal but are a couple of millimetres thick, its as if a plastic button has been scraped down the side. Do you think this can be polished out or is it worthwhile either taking it do a dealer or chips away. This is the first time I have had metallic paint and not sure where to go. I expect the whole door will need to be resprayed but will they be able to match colour? Any advice gratefully received Regards David
  7. I had my car remapped by Shark a few months ago. Hp went from 168 to 196, torque up from 361 to 440, Insurance went up around 10%. I have not noticed much of a difference in fuel consumption but certainly no worse. I have DSG box with DPF. Ben was confident that those parameters were within tolerance of the parts, he could have pushed for more but was reluctant to because of the DPF. Yes I may lose 10% life on them but to be honest I only do around 7,000 miles a year that I'm hoping for many years of fun, I know probably should have gone for the 2.0 petrol. There was a jolt when changing gear originally but that now has gone, not sure if that is me or the DSG adjusting. Would I do it again, probably, although it would be a different story if I now get problems
  8. I have KESSY plus a remap. Does anyone confirm that the fix for this is would wipe the remap? Thanks in advance
  9. Ok silly question, I know I have to remove the plastic parts to the left and right of the radiator to change the bulb, but how does it remove? I tried pulling it but it did not come out and I don't want to break it! David
  10. I frequently have water sitting between the rear of the bumper and the tailgate lid, which does not drain away. Is it a design flaw or a feature, does anyone else have this? If not I will mention to the dealer when it goes in on Saturday. Thanks in advance
  11. I have had similar problems (another thread a couple of weeks ago). It was booked in at the dealer then I cancelled then thinking it was me as I put a temperature gauge near the climate control sensor and it showed the same temperature as the dial was set at. I did not notice any problems in the winter but now "summer" is here have noticed same issues as the other members, having to set to 23/24 just to stop the cold air blowing in (or shutting centre vents). I have not been able to identify a pattern yet in what circumstances it happens, but maybe ambient temperature over a certain amount. I previously had Toyota Avensis with climate control, that just worked, I hardly ever changed the settings.
  12. Thanks for the help did not know it was so involved, very clever when it works !
  13. I noticed this for the first time last week, but the automatic temperature control for the cabin seems to be out. The outside temperature was showing 17C and I has the setting on 21 as it is normally on but the blowers were blowing cold. When I changed the setting to 24 it seemed to settle down but did not feel like 24 in the car and does not leave much option if I need to go higher. Could it just be me or has anyone else had noticed this?
  14. Thanks for your advcie, I am waiting to hear back from both Shark and TTS roadsport but think they have either been busy the past week, plus I have been away. My preferred one is Shark as I have not heard a bad word about their maps. I don't mind the 4 hour round trip, however I do have a concern that should my local friendly dealer update the ECU I will need another 4 hour trip plus costs to Shark.
