  1. Hello! Thanks once again for the prompt and helpful replies, so far the gear shifts have been getting smoother , i have contacted the dealer and he has told us to wait and mointor the situation. We will wait and see , afterall the warranty period won't be up so soon so if it fails its still covered by teh warranty. So yup thanks Ian, Jrayworth, Evening Star, Mac and David for the replies. Thanks for the flattering comment about singapore, unfortunately cars here are really expensive and the family paid quite a bit for the octavia its about 3 times the list price of a DSG SE spec 1.4tsi and its really really not good value for money whatosever and they make you destroy teh vehicle after 10 years so its really a bad deal haha. Thanks James
  2. Hi Guys/Gals I just got my new Octavia 2 1.4 TSI DSG estate in Singapore and it is fitted with the 7 Speed DSG gearbox, but its been giving us quite alot of problems. It stalls when i stop at lights apprently its due to the hot tropical weather in Singapore that is causing the car to stall so the new software was installed, but right now the gearshifts have been a bit cluncky there is a clunk when shifting from 2 to 1 and there is this while at low speeds in second gear is that normal? Will it go away? Should i complain to the dealer and get the box replaced? The dealership service is awful and it is nightmare getting anything done Thanks Regards James
  3. Hey Guys Thanks so much for the reply! Really appreciate it! We have ordered a car from the dealer in Singapore (an octy combi 1.4 TSI DSG) and the car looks a bit lifted so we were wondering if it came with the rough road package . Thanks! Regards James
  4. Hi Guys and Gals, I was wondering if anyone knew the Option Code for the rough road package and what is the differncebetween the normal road package and the rough road package besides teh differnce in ride hide Thanks James
  5. Hello I was looking at a Skoda Roomster 1 and the Fabia 1 and i noticed that they dont have any temperature gauges unlike the top of the line models. is it possible to find the temperature of the water coolant if it is running? i know that there is a warning if the temp goes too high but if there is a fault with the cooling and the temp goes above 90C but doesnt overheat then i wouldnt have anyway of finding out would i? anybody have any solutions? regards
  6. Hey thanks but apparently most pple in spore say that it will go away for awhile so i guess i will wait and see at most i would have to change the entire throttle box then thanks once again
  7. hey thanks for the codes Denis really appreciate it
  8. Hmm okay but i am not too sure where it is thanks anyway ross and nlj but why do u suspect that it is the the PAS and not the AC? i called the mehanic again and they said it could be the breather tube. is there a way to reset the throttle body sensor? Thanks once again
  9. Hey rob i have actually tried looking but apparently nothing seems amiss thanks though anyway i plan to wait for a while and see if it goes away first hope it does
  10. Thanks for the reply.I have no idea whatsoever and i dont even know if they have cleared it especially since we called 2 garages and they both said the same thing and that it would "learn" and the problem would go away we dont trust the dealer and we have no experience with the garages. Anyway the problem seems to go away when the A/C is off and when it is on the engine idles roughly and that it would rev from 1600rpm-2000rpm and sometimes the car even moves off on its own. i dont know it all started when the car started dying everytime the A/C went on and the rpm fell to 500rpm and now after they have cleaned it up this happens. Does anyone know what the possible problem is?
  11. Hey all i am from singapore too and yes i just encountered some weird things with my octavia 1.6 55kw too it started when the car apparently started to die when the car's ac was on brought it back to the dealer and now it too bounces up and down when it stops and the lights its as though some thing is wrong went to the garage not the dealer and they said it was something wrong with the throttle control and that they had it cleaned and deleted all its memory and it would go away after a while that the electronics are learning or something dont know if it is true though anyone would like to comment?
  12. Hi just went to the garage again they said that the computer has to "learn" the driving style of the driver since they deleted the information when the throttle box was cleaned and that after a week the problem will go away? is that true?
  13. hmm okay but the thing is that its an 55kw engine and it doesnt have a check engine light or an EPC light so i am not very sure and i dont quite trust the garage who is servicing the car but ihave no choice as i dont know who else to go to thanks though
  14. Thanks for the info and one more thing is there like a vag com error when there is something wrong with the crank position sensor?
  15. Hey thanks rob but i was wondering do u need to replace the entire throttle body? cause they said that i would cost over 1000 sing dollars to do so? is it possible to change just the crank position sensor?
