  1. I guess I don't do enough miles to worry about the fuel , have a works van during the day . On the motorway the Rapid is a whole lot better than a HTP Fabia , that used to drink fuel at a terrible rate when over 70 . It was okay round town but it needed written warning if you wanted to overtake anything . I hope to keep this car for another three years and change again when I retire in 2018 . I am happy to accept that the car is built down to a price and has a rattle or two cos all my Skoda's have been like that and if they weren't I wouldn't have been able to afford them ! Would like a new Superb though .
  2. I have had my Rapid for a little over a year now , I bought it in Sept 2014 . It has taken the two of us on holiday to Scotland twice in that time and has now done around 10,000 miles , 3000 when purchased as an ex demo . I have to say that the car has , touching wood as we speak , been completely reliable, as have my previous two Skoda's . It is comfortable quiet, ish and fast enough for me , it seems to use less fuel than my two Fabia's , and a lot less on the motorway . Apart from that there is nothing to report , other than I love it ! Best car I have had since a Peugeot 504 back in the 80's . When I win the lottery I will however still trade it in for a Mercedes S class , but until then I am very happy .
  3. Oh I have bad memories of sunroofs , never again !! Air conditioning , air conditioning , air conditioning ...............
  4. No noises from my 105 . Well apart from the odd rattle and a squeak or two .
  5. The oil in my Rapid does seem to get a lot dirtier than it did on the Fabia's that I have had in the past . Maybe the turbo in the Rapid causes it the Fabia's were both HTP's .
  6. I had two HTP's , Fabia's , great around town, ok on the motorway if a little heavy on petrol . On faster A roads it was not good at all it didn't like overtaking unless warned in writing . When we started having holidays in the north of Scotland I got the Rapid ; large boot, enough go for an old chap and good fuel economy , I love it .
  7. I find that reading the oil level on the Rapid dipstick is really difficult , thought it was because the dipstick is coloured black . Doesn't seem to use any though I hope !!
  8. My discs seem to rust more than either of my Fabia's .
  9. Occasionally it doesn't like going into reverse but mostly mine is fine . The engine is just great though just had two weeks in the North of Scotland and did 1400 miles and the car drives so well that you wouldn't know it was a 1.2 !
  10. I really love the reversing sensors , never thought I would but you can't see much out the back . Mine interferes with the radio and displays a graphic of how close you are to any obstructions .
  11. I use the Shell V Power stuff in my TSI Rapid cos Honest John recommends it , don't know if it makes any difference though . I can afford it because I do very few miles so the cost of fuel is not a big deal to me .
  12. Get it checked out just for peace of mind , I am a worrier so I would replace it .
  13. My 1.2 tsi has the cover , first Fabia htp had a cover Mk 2 htp didn't , they look better I think but not a big deal to me.
  14. Well I have signed up for Ensurance, thanks skoda 1982, we will see how that works or hopefully not !
