  1. Thanks for the quick reply, I haven't got that at hand but will check with the garage when they open tomorrow.
  2. Hi everyone A/C stopped working and having had a garage plug in a diagnostic tool it came back as faulty A/C pressure sensor. While the garage is pricing up the repair can someone tell me where it is located / potentially how difficult or easy the job is? I can't find it in the Hayne Manual so concern it's not a job for your average guy. Thanks in advance.
  3. For anyone whos interested, see attached photo for broken Vs not broken. I ended up wrapping a few loop of thick gauge wire round it to act as a latch stop. Not my prettiest fix and I'm sure I can have wire locked it better but car has been on the road for 2 weeks with no issue.
  4. Hi all This morning the bottom intercooler pipe came loose. Not the usual 90deg bend one (part #2) that failed but the metal connecting pipe (part #3). The tabs on it snapped. I suspect because I brought a reinforced 90deg bend pipe years ago, it now failed at the next weakest joint. Does anyone know if I can get an aftermarket pipe to replace that whole 3-pipe section (part #2, #3, #4) from the intercooler to turbo? Don't mind an one piece hard metal pipe replacement, at least less points for it to leak. WOuld consider replace part #6, #7, #8 if not too expensive. I had a look and ones I seen are either silione hoses or metal but designed for a specific, aftermarket intercooler for power gain. I like to retain the original one and just replace the pipe. I am also considering using self tapping screws but want to explore all the options first. Thanks.
  5. @TMB That's the one, thanks. Fortunetly a widely used part across the VAG range; I called a VW dealer who happens to have one available for tomorrow so crisis averted. Many thanks again.
  6. Hello all I'm looking to replace the oil pickup pipe this Wednesday but seem to have miscalucated; I forgot to get the associated o-ring. Could someone kindly tell me what the o-ring size and material is? Or suggestion where I can get one that's not from the dealer? I will give the dealer a call first thing tomorrow to see if they can get it in time but thinking backup in case it's just a generic part I can get from a high street shop. Worst case I guess I will reuse the oring. Many thanks,
  7. Hi all Quick question, is the cylinder head, gaskets, head bolts for the 75bhp egnine the same as the 100bhp power version? Haven't got the haynes manual with me right now to check. I'm looking to do a cylinder head swap witha refurbed unit and wanted to see if the 2 versions are the same, in case i make a mistake with the part purchases. Many thanks.
  8. Hi all Annoyingly this problem has reoccurred but this time the variable speed isn't working but the other 2 speeds are. I'll go through the obvious check again like last time this weekend with the multimeter and the spare motor I have but wondering @Wino if the relay switch in the interior module can cause this failure where just the variable speed isn't working? Many thanks,
  9. Managed to ordered an eBay special but while waiting for it to arrive, the original motor started working. I suspect some water got into the connector and it dried out once I had everything apart. I did "carefully" jet wash it a week ago 😅😅 Bit of connector cleaner and reassembly everything. Managed to mess up the blade position on the first assembly; it's was 180° out of its supposed park position. That was easy enough to adjust and worth checking before replacing the plastic trim/screws. I'm guessing that last pin is for the motor "park" position. This did give me an excuse to clean all the rotting biomass from underneath the trim, replace the modified spray jets and reposition the wiper blade which was touching the paintwork. Thanks again @Wino @KenONeill for your advice.
  10. Anyone have any idea where to get a front wiper motor? Having spent this morning trying the only places found are either the dealer at £150 each or used on eBay at ~£20-30. The part number is 6Q2955119A. Are the LHD and RHD motor the same?
  11. @KenONeill You mean the spindle on the linkages? No, not yet. They seem to move freely when I removed the motor from it.
  12. Hope everyone had a good Xmas. I've managed to take the wiper motor out and check the power going to it. Accessing the bolts to remove the "engine compartment rear panel" was a pain as it required removing the ECU and part of the valve block. There's 4 wires/connections to the motor. As a sanity check, could people give me their thoughts on the following: Brown/Black - Earth Green/Yellow - 12V full speed White/Black - 12V immediate speed Green/Black - ~2.2V (is this the switching volt?) So at different stalk/wiper setting I see: 1) full speed Brown/Black - Earth Green/Yellow - 12V White/Black - 0V Green/Black - 0V 2) Immediate speed Brown/Black - Earth Green/Yellow - 0V White/Black - 12V Green/Black - ~2.2V 3) Variable speed - same as 2). I don't think my multi-meter is sensitive enough to see the volt modulating at the variable speed setting. Brown/Black - Earth Green/Yellow - 0V White/Black - 12V Green/Black - ~2.2V So it looks like power is getting to the motor and therefore I think the wiper motor is dead and need replacing.
  13. @Wino @TMB Thanks for the advice. At least I have options without replacing the whole controller. Is the body controller the one located above the accelerator pedal? Haynes calls it the "electrical system control unit" according to their writing diagram. It's not super clear how to get to it in the Haynes as it shows you how to remove all the facia panels in the car without breaking up the instructions.
  14. I assume the whole body controller will be replaced if the relay goes. Are you implying the relay can be replace (with some difficulty) on the controller board?
  15. Great thanks. Looks like I need to check the power and earth going to the motor to see if it's the motor or not. I hope it's the motor as that's an easier/cheaper fix.
