  1. Ahh that’s amazing! Thank you for sharing! it was a great little car, certainly one that I regret selling to this day. It had a remap (by Awesome GTI) and larger front brakes, apart from that it was standard. does he still have it?
  2. Wow - a blast from the past indeed! In in the end I didn’t get a Focus ST estate, I went for a Mercedes C350 estate. Plenty of Octy VRS’s and Focus ST’s around these days. It’s nice to mooch around in something that goes under the radar but can pick up and fly when you want it to!
  3. I could see that he had positioned his car in an unusual way yes, I honestly did not think the stupid old man would then swerve over as I got close!
  4. Agreed! The traffic would flow better and use alot less road.. To be honest, I normally bypass this bit of road all together to avoid this sort of sillyness. I wish I had this morning!
  5. This happened to me today, i'm perfectly entitled to use the merge lane, this old boy decided to try and force me off the road! I'm thinking of reporting to the Police as that sort of behaviour is just not on.
  6. Yup, just delete your browser history plus cookies or even better, use incognito mode! I don't worry about my history being posted, I only look at cars + tech stuff anyway.................................and porn, loadsa' porn.
  7. Ditched the run flats on my 3er years ago.... Saved myself a fair whack by putting a good quality pump + tyre sealent in the boot (where the spare wheel should be....) and paying for full RAC cover. Not skimped on the non-run flats either, Goodyear AS2's all round. I can see the appeal, but I found them to be hard, crashy tyres that are horrificly exspensive.
  8. Yup, I already glay it etc, I'm just wanting to take the next step and give it a 1 or two step correction with a machine polisher.
  9. Good morning all, Since last year I've really caught the bug for 'proper' car cleaning and i'm really enjoying looking after my car and buying & trying new products on it to the point where it's overtaken Mountain biking as my main hobby. While my car looks good, I was filling up the other day and the forecourt lighting really showed up how 'bad' my clear coat is for swirls etc... I was actually gutted, I didn't realise it was that bad! My question is, I am thinking of investing in a machine polisher to replace my trusty Aldi special which i thought was doing a good enough job for me... Looking at a DAS 6 pro, is it worth starting with an orbital? My car is BMW which i've heard have really hard paint, I don't want to waste money investing in kit that will not do the job, but at the same time, I don't have the time to invest in 3 stage correctrions and concourse worthy results. Any help, thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
  10. I wouldn't be too upset and angry about it, You've not bought a 10 y/o car from a back street dealer, it's a relativley new car with a warranty and purchased from a franchised dealer. Annoying yes, but give them time to rectify the issues before mentioning rejection etc etc! Strike it up to experience, never buy the first car you see!
  11. Oh I know! My Dad did that..on a black car! |Needles to say it looked like someone took a brillo pad to a small part of his bonnet!
  12. It's the day after pay day... so it must be another delivery from Ultimate Finish! Always delivered to work so the Mrs doesn'tt know lol! - AG bird droppings wipes - CG Butter Wet Wax - CG new car smell - Getechniq C2 - V3 (trying something new from my usual Auto Glym extra gloss)
  13. Others may be able to answer better, but yes they do respond well to a good remap / tuning box. Mine certainly did. The DSG box can handle to increase in power and torque, I had no issues or slipping.
  14. Sorry, i'll explain, CAI stands for cold air intake (induction kit) The ITG maxogen while pricey, made a real difference to the car. TMC is a brand of tuning boxes. I had one fitted to my car as at the time (3 years ago), remaps for the 1.4tsi were not common place. https://www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-brand/itg/itg-maxogen-1-4tsi-a1-fabia-seat-ibiza-6j-polo-6r-induction-kit/
  15. These twin charged engines respond well to a CAI. I had a ITG Maxogen kit on mine, running with a TMC tuning box, she flew!
  16. Reminds me of playing Grand Theft Auto... 5 stars? no problem, just drive into the pay and spray and bingo! Wanted level gone!
  17. When you say play properly, what issues exactly? Laggy graphics? have you gone into the game settings and tried changing some of the graphic / textures down a little to see if that helps the frame rate?
  18. I doubt that will cause any issues for your engine. Low revs / labouring due to poor gear choice will cause more issues than higher revs. Just keep doing what you're doing!
  19. Not heard of Timing chain issues on the 1.4tsi, being a chain it should last the life of the engine and not a serviceable component like belts were. Could be wrong though!
  20. Ultimate Finish's own brand snow foam for me. Pretty cheap and even in a 10:1 dilution it works wonders. Foams up nice and runs down the body pretty quickly taking all the road junk with it! I'm also a fan of Krystal Kleen Detail's Blizzard. Bubllegum version smells incredible lol!
  21. Ahh ok, this is good to hear, so i'm probably best off getting OEM discs and maybe look to give the bell a few coats of caliper paint or something... may not even bother!
