  1. NOW SOLD. Offer accepted from forum user. Thanks all
  2. Willing to take offers on these, otherwise selling on eBay but wanted to let forum users get in first. Happy to let buyer arrange courier collection if that helps. Thanks
  3. Hi All 4 x Spitzberg 17" Alloys + Vredestein Wintrac Extreme tyres. New cost £1200. Priced to go at £499. Collection only from Halifax, West Yorkshire (or will deliver in West Yorks region) UK. Never curbed or scratched, only minor issue is small 'blister' by 1 valve (pictured). More than 5mm of tread across tyres. Any questions please ask. These are awesome tyres, will keep you going in snow and cold roads, regardless of whether you have 4 wheel drive or not! Cheers
  4. Hello All Sadly I've just sold my Yeti but it does mean I have a set of never curbed or scuffed original 17" Spitzberg Alloys and Vredstein Wintrac Extreme tyres. I'll post pics next week and tread depth measurement when I get home. Good condition and plenty of tread left. Collection only in Halifax, West Yorkshire. New cost around £1200 for the wheels and tyres, priced to sell at £650 I'll miss them, they are awesome and in heavy Yorkshire snow on deep snow covered B roads I never, ever got stuck! Thanks

    Goodbye Yeti

Well after 4 years of excellent Yeti service I took delivery of my new Leon ST FR 1.4 ACT last week. I considered a new Yeti but just fancied a change. The higher tech in the Leon (Adaptive cruise, all LED lights, 1.4 ACT engine) appealed to me but already I miss the varioflex seats and shorter length for parking. I'll miss the 4x4 and winter tyres in Yorkshire so you can guarantee this winter will be extreme snow now I have 2 wheel drive! take care all, this has been a great forum. (I have now paid for Freedom ads and have the spare Spitzberg alloys and winter tyres for sale over in the classifieds if anyone is interested)
  7. deleted as just realised you already ordered a new car
  8. Hi I appreciate it's an older thread but I was going to do this soon and a few guys at work mentioned releasing the brake bleed valve to avoid pushing dirty brake fluid back up the system into the ABS unit - does anyone have any thoughts on this?
  9. I like it. Not as functionally square and practical as the Yeti, but now I don't need to carry kids cots, chairs, prams this may well be high on the shortlist for when I change the yeti. I just hope the actual car keeps as much as possible of this concept and that Seat offer keyless entry. They seem to be the only VAG not to offer this at the moment (I looked at buying an X perience last month) and after having had keyless, using keys just seems stoneage now.
  10. Yesterday, in my winter tyre equipped Yeti I drove 8 miles across snow covered, hilly Yorkshire dales minor roads without a slip or a slide. I then HAD to go across a major junction and spent 1 hour waiting to travel 300 yards while a bus slipped and a truck failed to get past it and blocked the road! So I'm selling the Yeti for a rear drive, 550BHP V10 BMW M5 on summer tyres and staying at home when it snows, as the world is full of other idiots (not including this forum of course!)!
  11. Just to add my £0.02 worth. I have winter and summer for they Yeti - and except when confronted by a 2 metre high drift it really was awesome. I was even impressed with the off road button. With winter tyres on going down a basically sheet ice/snow steep road at 3mph I could feel it slipping. Pressed the off road button and it was very effective, I could feel the individual wheels braking as required (and no one else came down this B road and they spent hours queuing on the gritted A road...). My wife had Vector 4Seasons on her SX4 4grip and even in the Yorkshire Dales they were great so in all honesty for future that's what I'm doing on my next car, especially those spring days where I can go to work in ice and come home in 12'C. I have used autosocks on a 2WD car. They were good actually in snow but the issue I have is driving home on roads going clear/snow/clear/snow etc where they just wear out on the tarmac and you can't stop every mile to swap to and fro.
  12. Hi Now my Yeti is out of warranty I was considering a remap. Just because I've got at least 18 months with it left (I'm not buying a new car until the kids are out of car seats!) and for a small remap fee and a surprisingly low insurance increase it could make it more fun. Main reason is to improve torque and mid range overtaking/fun when driving home alone. Anyone had it done? Did it noticeably improve performance without major impacts on economy? Cheers
  13. Thanks - actually rechecked and its the Spitzberg that are my spare set, not Annapuras (same wheel spec though). So the same as yours.
  14. Hi Firstly apologies for another wheel size question, but I couldn't see anything that would answer this. Now I can get adaptive cruise, I might get a VRS to replace my Yeti. But I already have a second set of 17" Annapura alloys for winter tyres. I'll need new tyres but will the wheels fit? Annapura 7x17 ET45 VRS Gemini 8x18 ET51 Bolts, centre bore of 57.1 etc all the same I believe This online tool at 1010tires.com showed 19mm more inner clearance and 7mm in from outside edge, so hopefully yes. Or have I missed a key point!? I think the 17" should clear the brakes as I read elsewhere that 17" would be OK. Thanks all
  15. Hi I downloaded the online brochure today, publication date 10/14. It shows adaptive cruise as an option on the VRS. Obviously the online configurator won't be correct or updated ! Brochure still makes no other reference to ACC in explaining it, even though it's on the L&K. Anyone have the old brochure to compare? Dealer as usual is clueless and (though sadly this is not unique to Skoda, I tried to get info from BMW on their traffic jam assist and rear bike carrier options before I selected the £2K tech pack - their 'genius bar' was anything but.....)
  16. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/best-cars/driver-power/86712/best-cars-to-own-in-2014 Hooray. Always helps the resale value!
  17. Great colour combination. Looks like a Stormtrooper - which is a good comment for a 40 something who grew up watching them!
  18. I concur with Merlinman. Seat out lets you put the bike in with just the front wheel removed and I bungee it to the boot side bar. I looked at the internal bike rack but I prefer the wheels in the boot, not in the passenger section.

    Yeti Camping

Camping as a family of four we had the bikes on the roof but took out the middle seat and had the packed tent between the kids (securely so wouldn't fly forwards). My friend with his Nissan Murano was amazed at how the extra seat space and square boot meant loads could fit in while he had bikes on a tow bar and roof box!
  20. I was also considering an Octavia VRs, but on the undulating Yorkshire roads having a few inches extra height & visibility in the Yeti does make overtaking easier. I mainly use the power for nipping past the 42mph brigade (people who drive at 42mph on 60mph roads and 42mph past schools at 3:30pm, you know the ones!) not driving flat out everywhere.

    L&K photo

Nice. I like the metallic black/brown. It's like my GSXR750. In the brochure looked awful, but in the flesh looks black until the light catches the flecks. Everyones first thought is uuurrgghhh but when they see it, it's great. I might have to change my thoughts on a jungle green Yeti now... Link
  22. Thanks for the tip on wheel trims but still couldn't access them without removing the trim completely. May resort to plan B involving 3M exterior automotive adhesive tape to hold the headlight secure near the fog light mounting point.......
  23. Question - anyone who's taken the bumper off. I just can't locate the screws labelled as "1" on the bumper diagram above. The drawing seems to show them inside but where are they?!! Thanks
  24. Fantastic, thanks. I also found a few good pics on partbase . org by clicking on the appropriate Yeti section. Now just need to get a spare hour this weekend!
  25. You're right - may have happened by some careless other driver! Certainly not by me. Any tips on taking the bumper off?
