Apologies if revisiting this old thread is bad form, but a very related topic and hoping for some advice (& a cheaper solution) Octavia vRs Petrol, 2006. Driving up the motorway sudden loss of all power. Hasn;t been remapped. Has been in the garage I haven;t had passed dealings as a long way from home where it broke down (know their stuff about diagnostics i;m assured and in all dealings seem very good and professional). Problem found to be that two of the fuel injectors aren;t receiving power. Manual checks on injectors all clear. They have been through wiring diagrams etc. meticulously. Coudln't send ECU off to be tested as this Bosch one has an "S" in its number (I am a bit vague on details here) so testing it would knacker it - mechanic told this by multiple specialist ECU companies. However after a lot of thorough checking result is this has come back I need an new ECU. Prices as above. Garage offered to transport it to nearest Skoda garage to get re-checked and work done. Guy has spent a long time looking for alternatives to this, so not just a palm off as too complex. Basically hoping against hope that there is a cheaper way of resolving the issue. Anybody know anything about this? Any similar problems or possible solutions. Massive thanks in advance and anticipation.
