I sat in the new STI at the Chicago 'Auto' show the other week.... Very Nice.. It might be me getting old, but everyone else looking at the car, looked like they were still at school..!! In the US, you can still get the new Impreza with a boot.! It looks better in the metal, than in any picture I've seen of it. But it's still UGLY.

Air powered car.!? from our friends in India. World's first air-powered car - What Car? You would have to be careful where you get all that compressed gas from, otherwise there might be a bit of a odour from last nights curry.!

I'm off to Roanoke, Virginia. I've been going at least twice a year for about the last 6 years.! But like I said, I have never bought any automotive stuff. So far I have bought loads of clothes, a watch, a camera, oh, and Yankee Candles for SWMBO. They really do bump up the weight of the suitcase. The trouble I have, is that I have been going for so long, that sometimes I can't be bothered going shopping at all! I've even given up on duty free. That's why I am looking for inspiration. The suggestions so far have been great. Keep them coming.

I've bought a camera and plenty of clothes in the past, but nothing automotive. I was thinking of Meguiars cleaning stuff, as someone posted the other day about it. I'm not great at car cleaning, so what is the best/easiest stuff to get? Also, you can get a Sony PlayStation 3 60GB System for $499.99. about £250.00!

I think customs might have something to say when they smell that lot in my suitcase. Come on, any helpful suggestions.

I have seen quite a few posts about what poeple have brought back from the USA and as I'm off to there in a few weeks, I was wondering, what are the best things to bring back? Must fit into an already quite full suitcase!

Many years ago.... many, many years ago.... at least 20+ I had a friend who worked at a fuel test lab in Bletchley, Milton Keynes. Even then, they had test rigs to do 'road tests' on. Someone would drive a set route with a recorder in the car, then the car would be put on a test bed / rolling road and then driven the recorded route over and over again. This would include gear changes and everything. You would think, over the past 20 years, that you would no longer needed 'middle aged' men to drive cars around the Peak District all day. Although, I can think of worse jobs!

So, are they just trying to follow one of Briskoda's Cat and Fiddle routes then? You seem to know more than I do, what's the story???

I keep seeing a convoy of 5 C class Mercedes on my way home from work. They are all driven by 'men in suits', all have 4 very large plastic bags as passengers! (1 in each seat). I can only guess they are doing some sort of fully loaded test run or something. This has been going on for the last few months. I work in Bradwell, Hope Valley, in the Peak District and they always seem to drive through at about 5:30 p.m. Anybody have any ideas what's going on. If I remember, I will try and write down their registrations the next time I see them.
