  1. Grumpy Finn's post in MK2 and Mk3 Octavia wheels and winter wheels was marked as the answer   
    Octy III standard alloy wheels (no chains) are: 6,5J x 16 ET46, 7,0J x 17 ET49. 
    With snow chains: 6,0J x 16 ET48-50 with 205/55 R16 tyres and 6,0J x 17 ET45-48 with 205/50 R17 tyres.
