Really? The guy that does the mapping told me it is an "Invisible" upgrade so no need to tell the insurers... he said that they will name the software the same as the standard one in the ECU :-/

Cheers for the replies, I was planning to get the remap done this weekend but the person that was going to do it never got back to me :-( Just done a google search and emailed a few more companies to see what they can do for me so fingers crossed!

Hi All I am considering having an eco map done on my ECU, just wondering whether anyone else has had this done and what the effects were? I have been told that it will take my BHP figure up from 180 to 210(ish)bhp and it will make it about 15% more economical on fuel. reckon it is worth it?

Hi I've had my Octavia vRS for nearly 3 months now and was originally getting roughly 400miles out of a tank but recently this seems to have dropped by at least 30 - 50 miles on a tanks of fuel. Does the outside temperature affect fuel usage? as this is the only factor that I can think of that has changed over the past few weeks. I am actually driving the car slower as well recently although I would have thought this should save fuel. I still have a few weeks left on my warranty from the dealer so I am just asking on here first to see what people think before I take it to get checked out. Thanks

Thanks for your reply My car is a 2003 model so I am guessing mark 1 I have felt around the edge of the cover and it feels like there is a little lip on the one edge so hopefully this is to help remove it. I just didnt want to yank it in case I broke it completely :-/

Hi I recently noticed that one of the front soeaker covers in my Octavia VRS has a crack in it. Is there an easy way to remove the cover so that I can either try and repair it or replace it? Thanks

Hi All Just found these forums, as I bought my first Skoda three weeks ago and was interested in hearing what other people say about them, and also to get advice on one or two things. I have just bought an Octavia RS (2003) It's done relatively few miles for its age and has only recently gone over 55k. I have been really impressed with it so far and it really stands out in a crowd (mine is one of the bright red ones!) I've had one or two small issues as it seems to pull to the left quite a lot. I've had the wheel alignment checked and this is fine, I might get the tracking checked too just to rule that out. And the only other issue so far has been that the rear jet washer was blocked when I bought the car so I had to clean it out. I have a couple of other questions but I guess there are proper forums for that so I will post them in there. Cheers
