  1. How much would i expect to pay a non skoda garage to replace the rear offside and nearside bushes c/w suspension arms? Mot advice was that 'both bushes are deteriated but not resulting in excessive movement'. They advised replacing the suspension arms at the same time but i suspect a bit of garage 'Ker-ching' -ing going on here. Rob Rob
  2. I have a Bosch VP fuel pump in my 53 plate Octy mk1 1.9TDI /110 bhp elegance estate. I thought that the PD fuel pump was installed in Octy models after year 2000. Can someone let me know if this is so
  3. where does the chip go (location) on the 1.9 TDi / 110 bhp Octy mk1?
  4. Open bonnet. Look just to the center right of the engine cover at the back about 12" down. You will see 3 horizontal metal tubes. The rear wash tube ends are in that area - close by. The 2 tubes can be reached with 1 hand. The connectors are quite easy to re-connect BEHIND the 3 horizontal tubes. The rear tube water was probably frozen and the pump pressure found the weak spot at the connector when you kept 'trying' it. You would have heard the pump working but seen no water on the rear screen. It was being pumped out on to the road every time you tried it. You would have also noticed the low wiper wash level light coming on more frequently as you drove around and not realising why. Hope this helps. Rob
  5. I found the very same problem on my g/f's mk1 Fabia. The 2 ends were quite easy to reach and re-connect with one hand All is well again. Rob
  6. Air Temp is 6 Degrees celsius Rear wiper screenwash not getting through to wiper. Front wiper screen wash is jetting out ok though. Are they both run on the same 10 amp fuse (# 15 on the fuse panel layout plan) or are they separate fuses? Could it be a blocked pipe and if so is this a common problem? Rob
  7. Thanks Big Dave. They seem to be just what i will need so i've ordered a pair of them and they should stand me in good stead. Rob
  8. I got Zenith 18" alloys c/w conti tyres (225/40/R18) on my Octy Vrs TDI Hatch and i need snowchains for them. Any manufacturer recommendations please? I don't think it a good idea to attempt driving in snow bound conditions without snowchains on cumbrian B roads this winter,do you? Rob
  9. I would happily fore go my license payers 'right' to the BBC's concern in this or any other matter as i would like the BBC's power to demand/extort the annual fee (with menaces) to end forthwith. I would not miss them.
  10. Basically the pair of them have done a ' Ratner ' Don't people in the public eye ever learn? Obviously not. Oh, & what's the name of the grand daughter's band again? 'nuff said.
  11. Isn't the Scout 4 wheel drive and shouldn't that be ok to drive in snow?
  12. Isn't the Scout 4 wheel drive and shouldn't that be ok with out chains?
  13. Will a re map show up on a diognostic test and would it mean a punitive hike in insurance premiums? cc_7up
