  1. After three years, two months and approximately twenty days I
  2. Don't know if anyone else has already done this but... Happy Bithday Denis you old bugger!
  3. I'm messing around with (very basic) web page design and I'm wanting to use an image as background but when others are viewing it at higher resolutions the image repeats. How can I stop this from happening? My screen resoulution is 1024x768 and the page looks fine but, for example, Mr. Mort uses 9 squillion by 5 squillion (he's logged it with VAG-COM) and it looks ****e. At the moment I'm playing with an older version of Frontpage (v.4) or I write the code myself with notepad. Answers, in English, on a postcard to...
  4. ...and now we finally get to the point of the whole thread. See, even Briskoda gets there in the end
  5. I think AAT do them. Maybe you could set up some sort of group buy.
  6. More router woes :( Firstly, the one at work (another Netgear DG834G v2). I can only get a stable wireless connection on the laptop if I disable IEEE 802.1x authentication in the Wireless Network Connection and Local Area Connection in 'My Network Places'. I have to disable it on the wired PC too. Why am I having to do this when I believe the default setting is for it to be on? Also, what exactly is IEEE 802.1x authentication and do I need it? Via Google I have found that this problem is fairly common and the recommended fix is to turn it off but all refer to it as an XP SP1 glitch. All the PCs I have access to are running up to date versions of SP2. Router is running the 'box' firmware, WEP and SSID is hidden. Secondly, the one at home. My gloating about a hassle free set up has come back to haunt me. The connection seemed to get a little flakey so in an idle moment I downloaded the latest firmware and turned off the IEEE thing mentioned above but to no avail. I think it could be a reception problem as I found out last night that if I hold the laptop about 6 inches away from the router then reception is good. Any more than a few feet and its lost. I've also tried switching the channel from 11 to 6 but this didn't make any difference either. I can't think that there is any interference from anything in the room or the house but I have wondered about the two Wannadoo signals that I still have no problem picking up even though my router is in line of sight. Apart from the new firmware, router is WEP enabled and SSID is hidden. Turning those off doesn't make any difference though. I could go on and on but I'm hoping someone can help before I throw the router out of the window!!!
  7. Looks like the Forge 007P ( http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0006&product=FMCL007P ) IMO they do make themselves known more than standard. They are also highly recommended by many on here and elsewhere. Make sure you service regularly though eg every 10k miles. Free service kits are available from Forge. Personally I go for one of these http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=&product=FMELIR
  8. To all the people I've ever recommended the 'door open, wait for the beeps...' thing to... http://www.uk-mkivs.net/forums/386856/ShowPost.aspx Sorry
  9. OK, more a 'squelch' than a squeak. Certainly not a bang or a knock  What do you guys reckon? It happens at low speeds when I first hit a speed bump and then again when I drop down the other side. My motor is 3 years old, 50k miles and 90% town driving on Sheffield's terrible roads.
  10. Noodles, Have you got an aftermarket DV eg Forge 007 Another stab in the dark!
  11. TBH something else got my attention
  12. OK. Stupid question time but.................. I switch my laptop between connections at work and at home. How will my laptop find a connection if it's 'invisible'? And the weather we're having up here is terrible. I wouldn't want you turning out in this.
