  2. Would be interested to know how much you have spent over the last 3 yrs and the offer you have. Damo Sent from iPhone
  3. Many thanks James you are correct got the service book out and it says tooth belt replaced for cr Diesel engines every 180,000 km. 4 yr service just says inspect belt only and not replace. What a swizz think I will be saving my £750 and going to local garage rather than dealership. Damo Sent from iPhone
  4. Many thanks guys the car is a 59 plate feb 2010 so early 4 it's done 85k I believe the belt needs changing at 4 yrs or 100k miles so it's due. I had a problem last time with the dealership so they have offered 750 for the lot think I'll go with it. Thanks again for the advice guys. Fantastic forum! Damo. Sent from iPhone
  5. Hi guys had a phone call today inviting me to book my next service including mot which will include timing belt and water pump. What sort of cost should this all be from a main dealer was quoted over £900? Just had to fork out 1400 for new turbo and 500 for a full set if tyres. Am I being ripped off? Damien Sent from iPhone
  6. Exactly the same happened to me last month a little laggy and the lights on the dash. Drove it for a week no real problems until no turbo whatsoever on occasion. Turning off and on again got back to the laggy phase but not quite right. £1400 including days labour later. I have a new turbo fluids and seals. Ouch. Good luck! Damo Sent from iPhone
  7. Completely agree rubbish they either get in the way of the gear shift or the handbrake. Sent from my iPhone Superb 170 cr estate
  8. Many thanks guys for the info drove 100 miles in it today no probs. will get it checked out ext week and report back.
  9. Hi all, driving down the road today and I got the message "Engine fault - Workshop!" Glow plug light flashes and yellow engine symbol appears. That sinking feeling in my stomach not knowing if suddenly there was going to be a bang and lots of smoke. Thanks to Noble Motorsport in Chesterfield and £36.00 later they told me that the fault was that the ECU was not able to read the turbo sensor or something. Car feels laggy and down on power when they took it for a spin. Thier conclusion was that the turbo has had a fault and is stuck on low speed. He said that worst case is that it will need a new turbo all in could be £1000. After I picked myself up off the floor I thanked him for his advice took a card and left. This could be the nail in the coffin for the superb and it may have to go...... :'( Has anyone else had this problem? Damo
  10. Yep just had mine serviced at 79k and as it was not yet 4 yrs old skoda said cam belt would wait till 100k. Service and running costs have been very low I've been very happy. Sent from my iPhone Superb 170 cr estate

  12. Most clients of mine think my estate is a BMW or merc. So much for trying to portray myself as a sensible, thinking consultant.....
  13. Sounds to me a bit like suits. You buy one from suits direct, does everything you need or want for good value for money. Some people insist on buying designer it's still a suit probably made in the same factory by the same people but it has a premium and therefore desirability - this does not always make it better. Others buy tailor made suits. Damo
