  1. As a member of local dive cub found out with a little digging, The AA did not cover islands (Isle of Wight may be an exception), so getting cover for the Scottish Islands where he was planning diving he went with the RAC.
  2. That is a shame. I really like my Fabia 2 Monte Carlo, but it can't have a tow bar, and was looking for a bit more space. Octavia is just too big for my needs. :( Hadn't realised that they had dropped the VRS, given the problems that people have reported with the 1.4 engine, I'm not really shocked. Perhaps they should have done a diesel version.
  3. Does anyone know if Skoda are going to be doing a new Fabia Scout?
  4. Interesting I currently have the Mk2 MC, and my only complaints are the stupidly low profile tyres (had two burst on pot holes) and the lack of a tow bar. Does any one know the tyre sizes and if a towbar can be specced?
  5. He's luck plod was in a good mood. Traffic tend to issue court summons for more than three offences on none compliant number plates. Standard number plate is the way to go on bikes.
  6. Firefox and IE. We banned Chrome at work after we changed the proxy servers, and discovered that 20% of our upstream bandwidth was being used by Chrome sending data back to Google.
  7. Depends if I carry on diving and doing more outdoors, so potentially a Yeti or a Suzuki SX4 S-Cross. Otherwise a lottery win and a VW T5 base autosleeper.
  8. Never really saw the point. Rather spend the money on something else.
  9. Correct a friend in the Met me a list of the unmark cars that they have access to due to criminal asset seizures. They have quite an impressive line up.

    The '80s

It seemed that any film from the 80's must have a gratuitous topless scene, for almost no other reason other than to have a jugs on screen.
  11. My loverly KTM is back at the dealers awaiting a new subframe. :(
  12. Carlo, can you be more specific than down the back of the terminal. I've tried that and mine won't budge 1mm. Which point is the clip? Is it by the number, or 90° offset? thanks
  13. I drove down that road the other day. It it absolutely cover in four wheel skid marks, nothing from bikes. People are doing doughnuts, drifts and god knows what else, and they ban bikes.....
  14. It is a warranty issue, happened on my Monte Carlo. A clip was broken.
  15. I would download a recovery disk and scan your machine for virus, trojan, malware, and rootkit software.
  16. Almost as good as Star Trek II for goats.
  17. I doubt it would be a problem if Skoda *had* fitted LED's rather than standard filament bulbs.
  18. Make sure the school and the exam board have been notified. They will take it into consideration, but only if they know. They won't do it retrospectively.
  19. Well I just put on a pair of Ti Ackoprovic cans to the KTM. Without the baffles, a little bit noisy, now scaring small children and wildlife in the Watford area.
  20. Correct, but partly due to them being tested as open face helmets. If you have a Shoei xxxxxTec or a Schuberth C range then you must have the front closed and locked. So many rules, regulations and laws. No wonder it's to damn confusing.
  21. It's more than 50% transmission. It is covered by the same rules for windscreens, you can get darker visors but only from overseas. Buying one in a shop is a hefty fine, so retailers do not stock them. I've attached an image of my Arai with a store bought legal tint visor. It appears darker simply because the interior of the helmet is dark and there is little light that passes throug the helmet. Mirrored or Iridium visors is a gray area and subject to much debate. Also if a helmet has the capacity for a visor it must be fitted, unless you have off road goggles. Similarly ridding with a flipped helmet flipped is illegal.
  22. Glad to here your family are ok. Perhaps a second throwing of the tree for the drunk? I spent years on both Tramadol and Diclofenic in high doses, so I'll pass on my experiences: Always take Diclofenic with food, it is extremely hard on stomach linings. Tramadol anything above 100mg/day I'd suggest taking a laxative. If you are on higher doses of Tramadol it is addictive and you will have to go throw stage withdrawal, speak to you GP they can plan a step down for you. In the mean time, plenty of ice, take care, and hope for a swift recovery. If you want some for info just PM me.
  23. Honda dealers do seem to be hit and missed. The two that I would deal with in north London lost the franchise, as Honda want some sort of total corporate event for every dealership which means that I would have to deal with Chiswick Honda, who to be honest are a little sterile, and again got a load from the senior sales manager about other brands. Honda lost a sale because the customer service sucks. Have a look at to see if there are any other dealers in the general area. Or see if the local bike forum has a preference. And don't knock the top box, very very very very (can't really emphasise) on how handy they are. As for the refresher, riding is different discipline to driving, and it;s always worth doing some training just to make sure. For a while the biggest insurance risk on two wheels were the born again rider in their late 40s and 50s who hadn't ridden for 15 or more years.
