Off road wheels and tyres
I've now put 3000kms on the Scout with the 215/55/17 wheels. I did a trip around the Flinders Ranges in the North of South Australia. The car performed beautifully, giving me a softer ride with a much more durable tyre/sidewall. The scouts weakest point off road is it's ride height, but one of the reasons I bought it was it's on road ability and safety which included it not being too high. such is the nature of compromises. A superb scout with adjustable height suspension would probably be my ideal car. This trip took me over a lot of dirt roads, many creek crossings which were often quite rough and some mild 4wd tracks, The car was loaded with 4 people and luggage with 2 full size spares on a roof rack as it is quite remote in parts up there. I also had the front of the car covered in a paint protection film/wrap, which appears to have done a great job in protecting from stone chips, The factory side protection pieces also seem to have a good job in protecting the car

Improving reversing light 2020 Scout
Not a bad idea! thanks

Improving reversing light 2020 Scout
Thanks, Meeting regs and being what I want or need can be 2 different things, I have a reversing camera but it's still too dark to really see, It's annoying for me that they've gone to a "let others know" reverse light, I liked the older system which actually provided a useful amount of rear light,

Off road wheels and tyres
As a follow up to those who are following, I bought a set of used Yeti wheels (7J x 17) ET45 which have 215/55/17 M+S tyres with a 98W load rating. I'll go up a size when I've worn these out, I've haven't gained any more clearance but these will do the job for now, tougher, higher sidewall with the benefit of a slightly softer ride. I've tried them out on a few offroad tracks and they handle ruts and potholes much better but also give me a lot more confidence on that sort of terrain. I've put the 19s back on for now as they are vastly superior on regular roads especially in the wet

Improving reversing light 2020 Scout
Hi, The reversing lights (and rear fog) on my 2020 Superb scout (similar to most 2019 and later Superb wagons) are much weaker than my last superb, I've read the posts on the forum about upgrading but they all seeem to deal with the pre 2019 model without the integrated LEDs has anybody found a way to upgrade or improve them? Or added another rear light? thanks

Off road wheels and tyres
Thanks for the reply, I don't need chains for this trip, just a tough high sidewall tyre. I'm very happy with the superb Scout, it's quicker than my old V6 (but doesn't sound as good) I like the slight increase in ground clearance and bash plates, it's the perfect car for me, quick, quiet and comfortable on most roads, with usually enough off-road ability for where I go, I'll hire a Prado/lancruiser if I need more ability. I'll generally run the 19s and swap in 17s for rougher trips, at this stage I'll probably get some 215/55/17s tyre shops are reluctant to go outside the placard

Off road wheels and tyres
I really want to know if someone has put them on a superb

Off road wheels and tyres
Yes. I plan on taking two matched spares

Off road wheels and tyres
Thanks, I've used the comparison site, I've checked the arch and it looks ok but you can't really tell until you put it through the complete range of suspension movements, hence I'd like to see if anyone has done it

Off road wheels and tyres
Continuing my quest to get some extra ground clearance and a better wheel/tyre combination than my 235/40/19 tyres for offroad work on my Superb scout. I bought some Yeti 7x17" wheels with 225/50/17 tyres, these have the same bolt pattern, offset, centres and lug nuts, so they are an easy swap. As most of you said, they should fit over the brake calipers and they do. To maximise the ground clearance I want to eventually swap the the tyres, I know 225/55/17s will fit but has anybody put a 225/60/17 on a current superb? or a (215/60/17) I'm aware of legalities and also happy to wear a speed inaccuracy for this trip as long as the wheels and tyres fit

Off road wheels and tyres
Thanks john999boy, that's useful. just confirming that you're using 17" wheels over the 340mm brakes?, are they skoda wheels or something else, thanks

Off road wheels and tyres
Yep read them, But none mention whether you can put 17" wheels on the 340mm brakes
