  1. Is that a 1600 Zetec? Stock Estelle semi rear end and gearbox?
  2. I had a czech jump into the passenger side unexpectedly one time. He took dozens of pics and insisted on a quick spin to the other side of the lights, when he got back out and ran back to his own car which he had abandoned in the middle of the road. Most people hate it and tailgate me, one old fart in a fezzy ST overtook just me in a long line of traffic and then nobody else for about 50m dispite having ample opportunity. I nearly had a dust up with a bin wagon crew over the way the driver tried to run me into oncoming traffic once, none of this ever happens when i'm in the Porsche. Car wash workers are regular head turners too.
  3. It's fitted... The choke cabling is a bit of a work of art, but it was the only way to get it lined up properly. Driveability is better than a BDIC and i've not noticed any significant extra fuel usage. Getting the idle/progression stages working properly was a bit of a bind as the choke is useless and will stall the engine if pulled up over half way. It runs fine as long as it's warmed up and the dyno guy was very happy with it.
  4. 130s come up on ebay now and again, and they're not always cars i'd be comfortable cannibalising. I'm on the lookout for a full back end, but it's a hell of a job to do on your drive with hand tools and a jack especially when the car is a daily driver. I'm fine hanging on for the right donor car and in the meantime i've got my engine to keep going with. Week off work next week- Grp A valves in and head chambers to volumetrically balance. I could do with a link to the old skoda owners site, i'm on FB so is it a group?
  5. Found some sort of answer lurking in the bowels of the other forum way at the back. Estimates on the difference in length vary from 20mm to 3ins, but the lever action on the spring is different aswell apparently so it's irrelevant. I'm going down the experimentation route; i'm ordering another set of springs from Speedpro as the front is still 10-20mm too high and needs dropping further so i need examples to have some made from. The rear is sagging a bit and the shafts are about level so any lowering will run the bearings dry, i need to stiffen but stay fairly level which will mean chopping and re-flattening the end of the 130 springs.
  6. I'm having no luck in the archives of either forum, does anyone know what the difference in length is between a 120 rear spring and a 130 one? I've got a lowering kit from Speedpro but it has 130 springs obviously, if i know the reduction in length required i can have the rears i need made up using the ones i've got for guideline spring rates. Unfortunately 130 top mounts, which would also solve the problem, are not available anywhere. Cheers.
  7. Because it's a chinese impersonation of the real thing, and i'm not willing to take the chance. It's been bought already by the looks of it.
  8. Speedpro won't take it back so i've ordered a genuine Weber and the Chinese thing goes live on eBay tonight at 20.00hrs (201234678887) if anyone's interested...it's a come and buy me price i can assure you, i don't want it kicking around!
  9. Oh dear, it turns out Speedpro weren't having a sale on DCOEs but that they also sell Chinese copies of DCOEs called 'FAJS'. The thought of running this thing just fills me with dread, does anyone have any experience of an FAJS? Hope Speedpro do returns.
  10. Ay up there's life in the place, my order is on its way. New throttle cable fitted yesterday, old one too short obviously, fitted a 10ft Sytec PTFE lined one. If you use furniture polish the old one will pull the new one in no probs- old panel wiring trick.
  11. I agree, i have some experience from farting around with my BDIC which turned out to be way off. I can probably get it running somewhere near, the speedpro jetting is as follows... DCOE 40, diffuser 30, emulsion tube F 11, hl. jet 115, hl Air eliminators 200, atomizer 4.5, volnoběž . jet 45F9, the acceleration . pump 40, 38 mm socket Is this somewhere near? If it doesn't run properly i can just swap back and have a rethink. It looks like something has been lost in translation, but it looks like 115 mains and 200 air correctors on both barrels. If it ran badly i'd drop to 110 mains instantly.
  12. Does anyone know the right jets for a 32/36 DGV/DGAV on a 1289? Don't want to be guessing.
  13. I'm trying to order the manifold, carb and anti-vib gasket as a job lot. Maybe that Miloslav lad is on holiday, and english speak improbable others make not happen. Which 28/36? Webcon don't list one.
  14. What is the 32/36 DGAV like? Is everything on the right side and in the right place to make the setup practical?
  15. The air filter adapter is still available from Webcon if you quote the part number (99901182). My BDIC will never be for sale i'm afraid! I'm trying to place my order with Speedpro but they aren't responding to emails for some reason.
