  1. Hi 170, Many thanks....thinking in that case about a GLine 1.6TDI....will give it some more research. Good luck, fonaspin
  2. Hi, I been using a Greenline 1.9TDI as a taxi over the last yr and a half, no issues runs great with regular servicing ect. Tell me....has the 1.9TDI engine been erased as far as 20012-14 models are concerned? Id appreciate an update even if a newer engine since the 09 has been running and has proven as good as the mighty 1.9TDI ? Reply when time permits, fonaspin
  3. Hi, Going to go with VAG parts. Many thanks, fonaspin
  4. 09 Superb 1.9TDI Greenline 115K on clock. HI, Using VAG parts only. A new clutch kit with flywheel assembly . Quoted 700.00 pounds. I see many cheaper on ebay BUT unsure of quality ect . Just scanning for your thoughts.....30pounds offered for old parts by VAG supplier. All good advice welcome. fonaspin :wonder:
  5. Hi All, Why I ask myself does a SMF exist only for the 1.9TDI as mine is? They say???, SKODA dealerships are carrying out this conversion ( some say with limited guarantees ) ? If there is a STRONG possibility that the crankshaft will fail , then I thank you for that info....in my situation, I will be selling the car after one year from now ( 150k miles on clock ) AND I certainly do NOT want to leave any potential buyer of my car with possible failed crankshaft issues. So ....hard as it is to state, the only safe option is a new clutch and flywheel kit with bearing ( 750.00 ) fitted. All good advice welcome. fonaspin
  6. Hi HTH, Well thank you. Of course I will consider your advisory. Should have stated in case its valid to fulcrum point....I drive a Taxi doing 800miles plus per week. What is the difference .... Is your MFconversion costly? My car has 105K miles currently? What is the basic theory on why I should consider a conversion? Can most mechanics do the job? If suitable where do I buy such a conversion kit? Im thinking it will be much cheaper than a Full Clutch and Flywheel assembly kit? Would a SMF conversion save my clutch from also failing? Thanks on the 3T issue, fonaspin
  7. Hi, Im searching for a good condition Clutch and Flywheel...I have a reply but Im unsure if the Model Spec is my car.....its the 3T in the model description Im unsure about. My car is a 2009 Greenline 1.9TDI 1896cc engine no. BLS A45944 - Variant AABLSX01 Version GFM5FM5A4044 . This is the breakers search criteria: SKODA SUPERB (3T) GREENLINE TDI MANUAL 5 DOOR HATCHBACK 1896CC DIESEL (2009) Again its the 3T that's throwing me.....Do you guys think the parts he has for me will fit my model? fonaspin
  8. UPDATE: .....After one year and 40k miles, no dpf, I get around 44 inner city and 60 m way on my Greenline 1.9tdi .
  9. UPDATE: FYI........If this happens to you, you will need to order the barrel part from a skoda dealer ...bring logbook and photoid....it takes upto 5weeks....then have a good backstreet skoda mechanic fit it. fonaspin
  10. Hi, Auto spark tells me I need a new ignition barrel and that will involve AFAIK, a new reprogramed key..... Anyone know what this will cost.....supposedly must be carried out by official dealership? fonaspin
  11. Hi, Unable to remove ignition key when parked in my Superb Greenline 1.9TDI manual of late....what can I do to remedy myself.? Is it a big money issue to fix? All good advice welcome, fonaspin
  12. Hi, What mechanical precautions should I see too for my Taxi Greenline 1.9 TDI now with 100,000 on clock? Fully serviced to date , and runs Superb 800 miles per week. Apart from a full service, please list compulsory xtras that I should have either Checked or Implemented, with assoc costs please. All good advice welcome, fonaspin
  13. Hi, So doing 1K miles per week in my Greenline. What would U safely say is the recommended service interval? Every 10K miles 15K miles 20K miles? All have been offered by would be Greenline Gurus..... Do you honestly think adding a Tuning Box will increase MPG by at least 5MPG ? All good advice welcome, fonaspin
