Just been cleaning up my exhaust tail pipe with a bit of AutoSol and noticed at the back it is starting to go rusty and around the end its pitted, is there any cure for this and/or do you think I could claim under the warranty for this - after all its only 2.5 years old - and been looked after.

I have the Falken's all round on mine - they are pants, in the dry pushing hard they let go and in the wet they can be almost undrivable even at slow speeds - I am getting rid of them as soon as I can afford it.

I found in mine that when queuing I can take my foot off the clutch with no revs and let the car drive itself at 5 or 6 mph - you very rarly need to brake then, until you get the guy behind you who can't drive urging you to hurry up because you arn't glued to the bumper in front.

It happens on mine too - I was told that it was just the ABS and what-not getting ready to work. I found that when it starts release the break and re-apply and it stops.

Don't know if this is the right place, but its a quick one.... I have a puncture but cannot afford to replace the tyre just yet. I have directional tyres on all 4 corners, and the original tyres in the shed which obviously aren't directional. Is it OK to put the non-directional tyre on the same axel as the directional and it not effect anything? Ta.

I have had a light come on the dash this morning, and foolishly I have left my owners manual at home so cannot look it up. I presume it means there is a bulb out, but there doesn't seem to be...it looks like an upside down bulb with an exclamation mark inside, in yellow.....I have linked a photo below. http://tpark.co.uk/fabia.jpg Thanks.

Can't find my books for the vRS, does anybody know off the top of their heads what the capacity of the sump is for an oil change? Cheers.

Update on this one...they have had a look at the car and didn't argue, accepted full responsibility and I am getting a new bolt and wheel and maybe a new hub - they are having a look at that and replacing if it needs it, but they already said it is likely to need replacing. Got my dad to get his torque bar on the rest of the bolts last night, the suggested torque in the book is 120Nm, the bar goes upto 150Nm and they still were not budging on any wheel. Aside from that, there were also a number of bolts loose, on the front passenger wheel, I had just assumed they were all tight as hell, but nope. So, I have a hire car for a few days while they put mine right, I am gonna fight now for free insurance, freebies, tank of fuel, you know, the usual stuff. Also, I just noticed I spelt warranty wrong.

I just did. They had to get the OK from Skoda UK, but they gave me a full set of new wheels for what sounds like the same problem.

Already thought about phoning Skoda if I get no joy. From what people are saying this sounds expensive...for sure I ain't paying a penny for this, going to dig my heals in for any problems they throw up. Glad you have pointed out the other damage this might have done. Only one other thing, if they say that the hub is fine, is there any sure fire way to check - any give away signs or marks.

OK Thanks for that...will start pushing on monday for them to take it back and fix that. I ain't driving it until it goes back in knowing my luck I will get a puncture in that wheel. Luckily the missus car is handy.

Why, what will it have done to the hub...forgive me for been a bit thick, I can understand taking the wheel off, putting it back on and thats about it!

Here is the scenario. I got some new wheels put on the car under warranty. All was well until I got it back home. I went, as I normally would after getting the bolts tightened by air gun, to loosen and re-tighten by hand the wheel nuts. I came to the 1st wheel and one of the bolts is in so tight I had to get a long bar to loosen it. On trying to loosen it, it is just rounding the nut. I stepped back a bit and noticed that the nut is not in straight. It is cross threaded, and impossible to move, and any attempt is just rounding it off more. Because it is not in straight, on trying to loosen it, the new wheel has been damaged around the hole in the wheel where the bolt fits. I am going to be taking it back for at least a new bolt and get them all loosened off, but do you think I can now claim for another new wheel or at least the repair costs of it back?

I am sure I have seen this somewhere before, but been offered some Audi TT 18 inch wheels for my vRS, has anybody got a photo of them on a Fabia? IIRC the ticket must come within 14 days with 28 days to respond, only problem with that is that, the 28 days will land withing my holiday unless it comes next week and I can get it all over with before I go. It definatly wasn't a helmet. The more I think of it the more I think it can't have been a speed camera, and even if it was they would have pulled me if they wanted to...but then again...

Thats the other thing I was thinking, maybe the number plate camera thingy. The device (although it was at a distance and I was travelling at speed) was tiny, and sort of dome shaped I would say about an inch and half high - I have never seen anything like it before, as around here they usually park side on with the laser gun out the window. I have no idea how fast I was going, I would say around 50 (its a 40). I am now kicking myself because although the road was clear and empty, there have been a few kids killed down there recently so it was expected to have cameras down there.

This must have cropped up before, but search brought nothing. While driving yesterday I came across a police traffic car parked at the side of the road. On the back parcel shelf facing me was a small 'thing' which I can only asume was a camera. Now then, if it was I can only asume I was caught speeding (even though I would have guessed they would have pulled me). Only problem with this is that I am out of the country for a month in a few weeks time. If this does come through is there anything I can do to keep my licence until I get back and then put on the points?

Don't like personal plates which try to make words, but if I ever saw my first number plate I would offer to buy that - if anybody sees it, its a White Fiesta K325 NMW should be somewhere around Castleford - thats where I last saw it :(

I saw these today - we had an adventure - just got in the car and drove, and happened to go past - I must say, I don't like them, the photo makes them look better than in the flesh. You can see them through the fence on the side of the road.

Never thought - mine didn't come with a tow eye thingy - anybody know how much these are?
